    Dearest Crazy Legs--

Thanx so much for giving me your business card outside of Casey Jr. a few weeks ago, so that I might sign on to Micechat, too. You're the best, and keep posting your fabulous photos... I appeared in one, randomly last summer. I was looking through your photos and there I was standing in a queue! Yours, Jack.

I'm sorry, but I really think this Toon Studios thing is not heading the park in the right direction. I mean, it's still so incredibly random. That Cars ride won't essentially be any better than the God-awful Flying Carpets one, with props lying around a still pretty basic amusement park ride, and the facade of Crush's Turtle Twister in its surroundings has the coherence of a drunk Tourette patient it'll just be more expensive than the other facades at the Studios.

And while I understand they've done this sort of pupu platter thing before I think the Fantasyland approach really only works for Fantasyland.

DLP seems to be building good rides lately, but none of them actually improve upon their surroundings.

Reading this article made me happy man :-) The new concept art looks promising, the future plans with the three new areas (Toon, Hollywood and Action) seem smart.

Let's hope that the Action Studios makeover will also finish off that ugly Rock n Roller Coaster building...

Thanks again Peter, can't wait (once again) for your next story...!

    Loved it!

I really enjoyed the idea of the three main Studios, it does connect the theme. I am worried about the placemaking of Hollywood though - it can only be done well in a certain way, and will look awful if done incorrectly.

It seems random, but I like it. The Animation Courtyard extras sound really nice.

I do have to say I was not thrilled with the editorial extra.
It might not have helped DCA, but it did help MGM and I don't think the DCA-disappreciation was needed.

Hi, Jack...I guess I shouldn't say that on a plane nowadays or one of these paranoid, trigger-happy marshals might get to me, lol.

But seriously, welcome to MiceChat, Jack Richardson.

    From the article:
The only piece of firm news to come my way is that the Production Courtyard will also be renamed: Hollywood Studios. The choice of title serves two functions. Firstly it echoes the theme of the Tower itself (the Hollywood Tower Hotel), and secondly it does away with the perennial question of exactly what a Production Courtyard is supposed to represent.
There's a third, rather important function of the "Hollywood Studios" name: the tie-in with Disney-owned Hollywood Pictures.

The Sixth Sense, The Rock, The Santa Clause, and Arachnophobia are all examples of movies released under the Hollywood Pictures label.

Absolutely! I agree that any E-Ticket is a gamble, but from what I have read and to some extent seen the European themepark patron is quite different than the North American. Who's to say whether ToT is going to work or not.

At any rate, great article. Really looking forward to the 3rd part!

That last line always make me think of Bill... lol
    Anyway...
Speaking of that last line.. any chance of building an Hollywood Amphitheater for it... and brining a Fantasmic 3.0 to France?? (Then fixing up D-MGM's?) (This is speaking of course in the not to distant future when this park can become a day park rather than half a day park..)

Crush's Turtle Twister looks like it will be a very cool ride. The high level of theming and dry for wet effects described definitely sound like something worthy of the Disney name. Hopefully Disney will consider replacing Mulholland Madness at DCA with something having this level of theming.

A updated Fantasmic might work in the Studios. Just make sure they take out Pocahontas part of the show.
