These changes apply only to the Disney.com portal. Disney didn't indicate they were changing any other Disney-branded sites.

I think if this is popular enough that more could be added from the Disney-owned universe like themes for sports fans to go along with ESPN or maybe Lost or Desperate Housewives to go along with ABC. I think if this is a home run for Disney that the sky is the absolute limit.

Thanks for sharing the screen shots. They look awesome and I know a bunch of us will be checking in on Disney.com on January 29th. I, for one, can't wait!

Re: Electronic Gadgets...and Bob Iger Too: disneytim at the Consumer Electronics Show

Here is the introduction and Bob Iger's opening comments at the keynote last night. I'll be adding more later.

    A couple of caveats:

    1. I am not a professional cameraman. These videos were taken from the audience with a middle-of-the-road digital camera, so it'll be a a bit fuzzy at times, you'll see the tops of a lot of heads and the camera will jiggle a bit.

    2. As much as I'd like to, I won't be posting any of the fun stuff you're probably looking for. That means no POTC or Ratatouille previews and no Disney.com demo. These are copyrighted materials that we can't share yet. That said, there is still some very informative and entertaining material for you to see.

    Enjoy.

I saw that Elvis head... on youtube.

Did they display the fog screen?

Creative had a fog screen at their booth:

You can see the blue "Our music" and "X-Fi." It wasn't as dramatic as Davy Jones, but fun.

    More pictures from CES:

There's nothing like a little subtle product placement. Banners like these adorned the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) and the surrounding buildings.

The LVCC's South Hall just prior to show opening on Wednesday.

A lot a tech TV channels and news sites broadcast live from the show. Here a reporter from CNET previews a CES product.

Kodak showed off its latest line of digital cameras.

I have no idea what the Phoenix Wireless booth was selling or why they had a Rugged Racing off-road vehicle . . . and frankly I didn't care.

I'll have more pics to post later today . . .

Re: Electronic Gadgets...and Bob Iger Too: disneytim at the Consumer Electronics Show

More sights to see at CES:

The ladies of Vonage, forever blowing bubbles:

Have that one blank wall in your house that you're not quite sure what to do with? How about a 100" HDTV from LG Electronics:

Still not big enough? How about their 102" model . . . .

    . . . They'll even throw in a free cellphone:

OK, I guess size really does matter. Take a look at Sharp's 108" LCD TV:

Gotta have it? Get ready to fork over some green. This baby goes for about $70,000.

The life of a show model is rough. Witness the hardships Panasonic subjects its talent to:

That's what they have to do . . . all. day.

I'll have more pics up tonight with plenty of gadgets, cars and beautiful woman. Stay tuned.

This thread is fascinating. I've been away from it for a couple of days and just caught up.

I am personally not into all this high tech stuff. Too old I guess and I really don't need stuff. But I do find it all very interesting and am amazed at the speed and variety of things offered.

At least we got rid of our dial up so I can at least enjoy the new Disney site when it comes online.

Exactly what Dusty said! This coverage of CES is amazing. Thank you for all your hard work.

Did you get any pictures of the violinists at the Sanyo booth? These are 4 members of the group Barrage. They had a week-long run at DCA last Spring on the Hollywood Pictures Backlot Stage. And they previously played on the Tomorrowland Terrace/Club Buzz Stage as one of the stage bands on and off from 2000-2002. I'd be curious to see if you ran across them while walking the convention floor.
