'National Treasure: Book of Secrets' - MC Reviews

First things first - when you go to see 'N.T: BoS' and you know you will show up early so you don't miss seeing the new Walt Disney Animation short, 'How To Hook Up Your Home Theater' starring Goofy. I almost cried tears of joy and am considering buying stock in Dopey Digital!

See this thread for more on the short:
    http://www.micechat.com/forums/showt...ort-83489.html

Of course it's great fun seeing the old gang from the first film. And even more fun to see the great Helen Mirren looking like she's having a grand time as well. Adding the always masterful Ed Harris and pitting him again against Cage, his co-star from 'The Rock', is worth the ticket in alone. Plus Bruce Greenwood proves once again why he is one of our best character actors.
Yes there are plenty of elements provided in the film to ponder over as future attractions but the real treat, as in the original film, is the history.
Sure see the movie and have a great time. But visit The Library of Congress and Mounts Vernon and Rushmore to feel time.

Can't wait! Book of Secrets is sure to keep me glued to my seat in suspense of the story - in awe of the action and effects. I agree with your assertion, ALIASd, that eople should be encouraged by the film to visit our historic landmarks and monuments. The new Goofey toon at the beginning will make tis movie going experience even more of a treat!

We're going tonight! It's rare to be able to go to the movies to see a live-action family film we'll all enjoy.

Loved the Goofy Cartoon short! It's just like watching "How to Play Football! Loved all the little serial numbers on the cardboard boxes with a Mickey Mouse name in the serial number and the pictures of Walt Disney and John Lasseter. I would rate this with the Goofy shorts of old- classic in every way. Goofy would never be able too do these moves in 3d or 4d.
The best family film I have seen in a long time, the crowds in our theater loved it.
We enjoyed this better then the original. Really leaves off the same as the original but with more surprises. Some with the same kind of formula but with twists and more jokes, made it more fun and interesting.
Looking forward too other folks feedback!

Did nothing for me either. Wolfette loved it, but it is the first mystery/action movie she has ever seen.

    Goofy was great!

I agree. The first did seem a lot faster, and fresh. This one, while I liked the premise of the story, seemed to drag and re-use a lot of the same stuff from the previous film.

I'm not going to go so far as to say it did nothing for me... I wasn't bored. But I wasn't excited walking out of the theater like I was with the first one.

If you're willing to go in and suspend disbelief for a couple hours and ignore the preposterous nature of the film, it's a good enough popcorn flick for the holidays.

And seeing the Wall-E trailer on the big screen, and the Goofy animated short is worth the price of admission.

Photos, news, and commentary every week from Walt Disney's Magic Kingdom!

I have seen the movie yesterday and I like it better than the first one. It was very entertaining for me. The Goofy cartoon was a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to next hand-drawn animated disney movie. So, go to the next cinema and watch the movie.

I went and saw it on Christmas Day. I thought it was great! Much better than the first one. The Goofy short in the beginning totally made my day though! I went with my husband and was patting his arm really really fast because I was so excited. Totally made me feel like a kid again.
I was surprised at how many people go to the movies on Christmas Day thoough...

Master Gracey, I agree completely! I didn't know about the Wall-E trailer or the Goofy cartoon in advance, so I was stoked when they started. The movie, whatever. Totally worth my ten bucks just to see the cartoon and the trailer.

Goofy short had me doubled over. Wall-E trailer was a great surprise.

For the movie, I expected the Ed Harris character to be more menacing.
    Spoiler
He seemed to give up too easily in the City of Gold.
Overall, it was not as edge-of-seat as the first, but still fun.
These are the games that never end.
