Anyone trade Stocks w/ E*Trade?

I was curious if E Trade was as easy as it looks..
I want to trade a minimul amount of Stocks (5 shares possibly)
It says it's $6.99-12.00 a year to be a member
Can I literally just sign up, accept the year fee and purchase several shares of stocks, monitor them, sell them when I want and trade them when I want? Is it really that easy?

Anyone who has experience with E Trade please give me some advice :]

I have never used e-Trade, but I have a client that uses it and she is pretty "thrifty". I would just say to check the fine print. If there is a per transaction fee, it might add up depending on how many trades you want to do.

I think you probably misread something. That is way too good to be true. I believe their flat fee rate is $12.99 per stock trade. I use Firstrade. They're $6.95 per trade...much cheaper.
