It's now been upgraded to a 5.8. This is not a small quake. Not catastophic, but not insignificant at all.

Help the USGS gather data on Earthquakes. They track quakes and try to get people to report what they felt so they can get a much clearer picture of how the energy dissipates through the ground.

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff As dreams are made on, and our little life Is rounded with a sleep. mycroft16 on Twitter

That's interesting, I'm in Escondido (10 min. away for anyone who doesn't know) I was sitting on the ground when it happened and barely felt a thing.

Being on the second story of my house, it was quite violent. I hope everything and everyone is doing well with no harm involved!

    Re: Earthquake at Disneyland

Wow I must be a deep sleeper. I live in Coto de Caza which is about 30 miles from Disneyland. I slept through it, not even knowing what was going on. I heard a bit of noise which was probably my desk hitting the wall. But what woke me up was my door moving. I didn't fully wake up until my sister came in and asked if I felt it.

Only effect on me is I have a very small headache, probably meaning the shaking caused my head to hit the wall

And on the side note, I can't think of earthquakes without thinking of the movie LA Story.

I work in Chino Hills. That was where it started. It was pretty big. Things were falling off the shelves in my office. It was pretty intense. Now they keep showing DL on the news. My girlfriend works in Downtown LA and she said her building was rolling back and forth (since the buildings are on rollers). I hope everyone is ok.

    Re: Earthquake in orange County!

Felt it here in Anaheim Hills, close to chino hills, we got hit pretty bad with our buillding shaking violently. We've got fallen Ac units (luckily didnt hit anyone) cracked walls, ceiling panneling coming down. But overall everyone is okay so could have been worse.
    Everybody's got a laughin' place-

I was visiting friends out in Yorba Linda and it sounded and felt like a dozen semi trucks rolling right past your house. The pool looked like an ocean and it was a crazy expierience! I have a headache...
