Where To Post Your Trip Reports - Please Read

Howdy Everyone!

We get lots of great trip reports around here. And many of them serve as wonderful vacation resources as well. We LOVE trip reports and look forward to seeing many more of them in the future.

To make sure that your trip reports don't get lost and can also serve as vacation planning material for others, please do us the favor of posting your Disney related trips in the appropriate Disney park forum and your non-Disney vacations in the Non-Disney Theme Parks and Vacation Locations forum.

In addition, it would be very helpful if you'd choose a descriptive title which clearly states where your vacation location was & use the "tag" function to enter keywords which describe your trip.

For example, if I visited Las Vegas and stayed at the Circus Circus Hotel and saw the stage show Mama Mia, I would start my thread in the "Non-Disney Theme Parks and Vacation Locations" forum. I might choose the title: "Vegas vacation - Circus Circus Hotel - Mama Mia - and more." Then I would pick tags which list out the key words that people might search for when finding my thread: "Las Vegas, Circus Circus, Mama Mia, Nevada, Vacation, Venetian Buffet, Monorail" etc.

You can see how much easier it will be for people looking for Vegas information to find my thread with the title and tags above than if I simply started a thread titled "My family vacation" in the Lounge section - which a few people might read before it got burried under hundreds of other threads.

Don't miss the opportunity to have as many people read your threads as possible. Always choose the correct forum and pick a descriptive title and use tags!

There is also a Trip Report icon that you can choose for your report which will allow people to filter their search for just trip reports.

I didnt know this.. so sorry jsut posted my first ever trip report

I would like to know though,.. how do we get those trip report signs in front of our report. I couldnt figure out how

If vacations are Primarily Disney, but also spend a day or two at non Disney parks, should they just go under the Disney park location, or should they be broken into different trip reports in different sections?

If I'm doing a trip report to a location I wouldn't necessarily call a vacation destinaton - say the Ventura County Fair - where might that best go?

to quote the listing on the main forums page

Non-Disney Theme Parks and Vacation Locations (20 Viewing)
Any other Non-Disney Destination such as Theme Parks, Local Fairs, National Parks, Cruises, Museums, Cities, Monuments, etc.

That would be up to you really. If it's an on-going TR and you spend 8 days at Disney and 2 at Universal you could put the Universal days in the Disney TR.

Or you can do a seperate report for Universal in the non-Disney parks section and put a link in your Disney TR to the Universal TR.

Were always looking for great non-disney content for that section.

Excellent policy! I particularly like seeing more descriptive titles for the TRs. For example, if you go to someplace like Universal Studios or Sea World it's very helpful to know which location your TR (or even questions and news that are posted about these parks) is about. A Californian might automatically think of the California parks, but as a Floridian my first thoughts are of the Florida parks. Making this distinction in your title would be much appreciated clarification.
