Who really is the Greatest American ever? Regan or Washington?

Okay, I just watched Discovery Channels Greatest American season finale about a month ago and was surprised by its results. They said that Regan is the #1 greatest American and Washington is the #4 greatest American. The other three were, Abe Lincoln, Ben Franklin, & Martin Luther King Jr. All of the men have done extrodinary things during their lifetime. But even with Regans GREAT GREAT accomplishments, did he deserve to be number 1? What about Washington? If he decided to be king instead of president, what would be going on today in what ever country this could have been? My question to you is....Out of the top five people I just listed, was the decision to make Regan the #1 greatest American a good decision by the Discovery Channel voters? Or should Washington, Lincoln, King, or Franklin been voted as the #1 Greatest American?

I was horribly shocked by this program. It became very appearant that alot of people have no understanding of history beyond pop culture. Its always hard to pick the most important some of the people who made the list were down right scary!

I think you are 100% correct. To test this theory, let's create a poll where I am part of the options to select in a popularity contest.

Then, next week I can die and you can see if there are any more changes, and if I become more popular after I am taking my dirt nap.

We may need lab coats, cus we are doing some science on this one.
