Disney "Through the Years" Christmas Tree

I got this catalog yesterday that had this tree in it. I want it soooo bad but wanted to see if anybody else had it so I could ask if it is decent quality and worth the $239.95.

Here it is!

Think of how many pins you could get for $240!

I can almost get a plane ticket, to Disneyland, for that price.

Re: Disney "Through the Years" Christmas Tree

I just saw that a couple weeks ago online. it does look really nice,
and has lots of detail. And compared to some other collectable
items sold in DL, it's not too outrageous of a price. The olzewski (spelling?)
piece are a little more detailed, but are in the same price range.

I think there is a 2nd Disney tree also, and also a wreath that has several different Mickey's and Minnies. They are all done by those places like bradford,
or franklin collectors groups

So I take it that's a ridiculous price to pay? That's what I was thinking. I bet I could buy half of a Disney Christmas village for less. And oh lord Dave.....you and your pins!!

Haha! Well yah, it IS a ridiculous price for a collectible that is only good one season out of the year. $250 would be better spent on a Disney item that looks great no matter what time of year it is.

Plus its only 16" tall so how teeny tiny are the characters. Save your $$ and buy some storybook ornaments and create your own "Through the Year's Tree"

I just saw that in Woman's Day. It's cute, but... I second Pratt. Get a real tree and some pretty Disney ornaments.

Re: Disney "Through the Years" Christmas Tree

Well, I wouldn't use this in lieu of a regular Christmas tree, but it would be nice as an addition Christmas Decoration. At 16", it is similar in size to many of the big figure at DL, plus it has the moving trains, on various levels, as well as the moving sleigh above the tree. So you do need to have a place in mind where you would want to display it, It reminds me of some of the Department 56 items, only those are smaller.

Here is a Link to what I was referring to in my previous post. It's with Collectables Today (Hawthorne ).

Here's a similar Disney item, which is NOT for any particular time of year.

This is the wreath, mentioned previously.

Here is the tree you have in the first post, BUT it's cost is $199 plus about $22 in shipping. So the value isn't as high as what your original source says.

Re: Disney "Through the Years" Christmas Tree

The tree is awesome, and at $199 plus shipping it is price but I have paid more for stuff we only have out for Christmas (our polar express train comes to mind, which is only out when we have our tree). This you could easily have out from November through December, and it looks quite lovely.

Re: Disney "Through the Years" Christmas Tree

I will never buy from Personal Creations again. I bought some ornaments from them last year and they were similar, but NOT the ornament in the picture!!
I sent them back, and got my money back.

Re: Disney "Through the Years" Christmas Tree

Wow, that "tree" is adorable! That really is quite a high price tag, though. Have you tried looking for it on eBay? Or like others have said, start collecting figurines/ornaments and make your own "through the years" tree. I started buying an ornament from DL every year a few years ago and already I love my collection, and the memories that come along with it.

Re: Disney "Through the Years" Christmas Tree

Aladdin, those are great items. I would use this as a decoration of course, not to replace a real tree. The price throws me. Someday I do hope to have my own Disney Christmas village with a train and all....gosh I LOVE Dept. 56! I have a few Disney ornaments but our tree is already overflowing with ornaments every year with no room for more so.....maybe 2 trees then!!
