That is my kind of kid. I think we should all take a moment of silence and stare hard at dsnylndmom's avatar.

Re: No more frosted animal cookies...

Sure I have love for the Circus Animal cookies, but what about the doubl fudge sandwich cookies? My grandma would buy us the Mother's Assorted Cookies bag. First to go were the Circus Animals, then the fudge ones. I need to go to the store to do some shopping.

Re: No more frosted animal cookies...

That's crazy!

But you know what? Right now at DL they have rice krispie treats with orange frosting that tastes just like animal cookie frosting. They are sooooooooooooo
yummy! Ken and I shared one and we loved them so much that ended up getting another one for each f us to eat on our ride back home from DL!

We can only hope that someone else will take the recipe and continue the tradition...

But.... it will never be exactly the same.

Re: No more frosted animal cookies...

This really sucks.

Maybe Disney can buy up the last batches and sell them in the Court of Angels Store.

Fear not, you will soon be able to get the pink and white sugar bombs from China - with all the melamine you could ever want.

I knew you'd sniff your way over to this thread.

I grew up on Mother's but haven't seen them in a loooooong time. Were the Keebler frosted cookies any good that I sent you for your birthday?

This isn't the exact recipe, but pretty close:
Sugar Cookie Recipe - Mothers Circus Animal Cookies - Homemade Sugar Cookies |
and...
CandiQuik
for the icing.
You could probably do spritz style.

Aren't Flaky Flix made by Mother's too? Those are my all time favorites! It's like a death in the family.
