Favorite toys when you were a kid?

I had a fairly nice assortment of toys. Pretty typical stuff, for late 60's.
But my all-time favorites were matchbox cars and hotwheels, man I could play with those for literally 6-8 hours a day when I was 5-10 years old.
Did you have any toys that just stood out as the best?

I seem to remember it being called a Lemon twist.
You put the loop around your ankle, and twist it around the other leg and jump.

The original wooden Fisher Price Little People toys. I had the Farm and Sesame Street house, the ones today are cute but I enjoy the originals so much more.

Star Wars action figures from the first three movies and all of their vehicles. Then I'd go ahead and rewrite the weak points of the original trilogy and then add subplots. The original one and half/two hour movie would take about 6 hours.

A geek was born.

In the eighties somebody improved upon this and made the SKIP IT. I think I had one. It had a counter that counted how many time you skipped over it.

My favorite toy had to be Barbies. I could play with them for hours and hours. Also loved Polly Pocket, Legos, Popples, Littlest Pet Shop, Care Bears, Rainbrow Brite, Strawberry Shortcake, Fisher Price Little People, and Sylvanians.

I use to sit and play for hours with my Barbies. I also loved my Lite-Brite. I would put all the pegs in, turn off the lights and sit and look at it in the dark...ooo, so pretty.

I had one of those Merlins, that was cool. Not as cool as the Coleco football though...

I think this would be better if we listed our favorite toys today. There is this little shop on Broadway that has a nice selection of whips and... uh.


When I was young, I got or bought Matchbox cars. This is when they were English and owned by Lesley. Mattel bought them and ruined them.

I didn't know this. So was the bear named after Gary Burghoff's M*A*S*H character because he owned a teddy bear? Seems likely.
