Blog Entries: 29 ![]() | Any North Carolinan's on MC? I was wondering if there are any North Carolina residents that could help me with some questions: My wife, son, and in-laws are flying to North Carolina on November 14 and flying back to Los Angeles on November 20. We are having a 'family reunion' of sorts......wife will see her brother whom she's not seen in 14 years, etc. (he actually lives in Virginia). Anyway.....we're very excited about our trip. Anyway I was wondering, for you that live there, can you tell me what us Southern Californian's can expect in Jacksonville, NC weatherwise? Will it be cool, or downright cold? Will it be moist or raining? What is the weather typically light during this time of year? Any info is greatly appreciated ![]()

![]() | Re: Any North Carolinan's on MC? It depends. Last yr it was cool, but we did see some warmer weather. Cold night (in the 40's or 50's) high's could be anywhere from the 60's-70's. the downright cold won't arrive until December or Jan. However it's probably best to check weather.com before your trip just to be on the safe side. Jacksonville is closer to the ocean, so you could be in for some great weather (do not think CA beach weather, but nice none the less...unless it's cloudy the entire time lol) Enjoy your visit, don't make fun of the way North Carolinian's talk, don't become a UNC fan (Duke is better) and don't forget to try our BBQ(Psssh listen to me talk as if I've lived here all my life.... )

Well, things are pretty bleak here in Corona........I may be sending resume's to North Carolina.....so who knows... Thanks for the info! I won't make fun of the way they talk ![]()

![]() | Re: Any North Carolinan's on MC? david, are you flying into Charlotte?? We stayed at a hotle near the airport, and that's where our car was broken into. We were told that all the hotels near the airport have cars broken into EVERY day and the hotels take no responsibility

Thanks for the info though - that is so sad that cars are broken into and no one does anything about it. You'd think the hotels would want to make parking a little bit more secure for the guest.....very sad.

we spent over a week in NYC, staying in NJ even, and never had any problem. The ONLY place in the WHOLE USA we had any trouble whatsoever was in Charlotte!!, and they stole the kids toys!!! http://www.virtualtourist.com/hotels...otte-BR-1.html http://charlotte-hotels.tripadvisor...._Carolina.html http://charlotte-hotels.tripadvisor...._Carolina.html

![]() | Re: Any North Carolinan's on MC? I live in Atlanta. Have fun with your two hour layover at the airport! As far as the Carolinas go, I've only been to Charleston, SC and Cherokee, NC. We've actually considered buying a lot of land (re. one lot of land, not "a lot") in Cherokee - it's nice! Sounds like you won't be anywhere near there though. Have fun at the reunion! |

![]() NC weather is great and sometimes it reminds me of CA weather during most of the fall, except the summer??? H-U-M-I-D!!!!! So if you are serious about moving here, be aware that out here there is no such thing as dry heat.

![]() | Re: Any North Carolinan's on MC? I love ABC! Their soup bowls are awesome and they make a killer avocado sandwich. There's also "art exhibits" between each of the terminals so if you want to stretch your legs you can walk by those, too. ![]() |
