This Sunday, do we gain or loose an hour of sleep?

Anyone know?

Spring ahead.

Fall behind.

Fall behind, so that means we loose an hour of sleep?
It's always confused me.

Yes that's right, you loose an hour.
I learned it as:
Spring ahead
Fall back
Same diff I guess!

Nooo, you get your hour back. So when you wake up and it's 6, go ahead and hit the snooze button because it'll really be 5 when you set the clock back*.

It's my sister's favorite "holiday."

*Unless you already changed your clock the night before, then you'd better just get up because you're gonna be late!

we gain an hour....for instance if I did not change the clock back an hour and showed up for work at my normal time of 7am it would really be 6am with the time change. Therefore we gain an hour.

springing forward looses the hour.

Oh brother, you guys are right. In AZ we don't change times.
That's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it.

Re: This Sunday, do we gain or loose an hour of sleep?

So if I start work at 2AM, change my clock at 3AM, yet am scheduled to be there til 11AM, will I work my normal 8 hours given I take an hour lunch? or will I work 9 hours? or 7?

(We actually discussed this in the Spring, "Just work your 8 hours to whatever it'd be and leave, disregard the time change.")

I never lose an hour of sleep. When we spring ahead I lose an hour of day somewhere in the mix, but nobody is taking an hour of sleep away from me!

On the other hand when we fall back I will gladly take the extra hour of sleep.

Re: This Sunday, do we gain or loose an hour of sleep?

No, they're picking you up at 6:30. But thanks to the miracle of time travel it will feel like 7:30.

You might want to call and double check with them, just in case. And be sure and set your clock back on Saturday. Luckily in the fall the worst case scenario would be that you were early. In the spring is when everyone runs late that first day.
