Re: So...What Did You Pay for a Gallon of Gas lately?

Ours went to $1.99 a few hours ago. It dropped 3 cents in between the morning and afternoon hours.

Re: So...What Did You Pay for a Gallon of Gas lately?

Definitely a nice silver lining in these "dark cloud" days.

At the Oxnard, CA Costco - 2.47...

For those who fill up at Costco. Is the wait in line worth the savings for you? I am a member but every time I go there it seems like the line is worse than Splash Mountain on a hot day.

Re: So...What Did You Pay for a Gallon of Gas lately?

$2.40 something I think. I'm almost worried about seeing what gas prices are like along the way to Disneyland this weekend.

Love Song

We were both young, when I first saw you.
I close my eyes and the flashback starts-
I'm standing there, on a balcony in summer air.

I see the lights; see the party, the ball gowns.
I see you make your way through the crowd-
You say hello, little did I know...

That you were Romeo, you were throwing pebbles-
And my daddy said "stay away from Juliet"-
And I was crying on the staircase-
begging you please don't go...
And I said...

Romeo take me somewhere, we can be alone.
I'll be waiting; all there's left to do is run.
You'll be the prince and I'll be the princess,
It's a love story, baby, just say yes.

So I sneak out to the garden to see you.
We keep quiet, because we're dead if they knew-
So close your eyes... escape this town for a little while.
Oh, Oh.

Cause you were Romeo - I was a scarlet letter,
And my daddy said "stay away from Juliet" -
but you were everything to me-
I was begging you, please don't go-
And I said...

Romeo take me somewhere, we can be alone.
I'll be waiting; all there's left to do is run.
You'll be the prince and I'll be the princess.
It's a love story, baby, just say yes-

Romeo save me, they're trying to tell me how to feel.
This love is difficult, but it's real.
Don't be afraid, we'll make it out of this mess.
It's a love story, baby, just say yes.
Oh, Oh.

I got tired of waiting.
Wondering if you were ever coming around.
My faith in you was fading-
When I met you on the outskirts of town.
And I said...

Romeo save me, I've been feeling so alone.
I keep waiting, for you but you never come.
Is this in my head, I don't know what to think-
He knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring and said...

Marry me Juliet, you'll never have to be alone.
I love you, and that's all I really know.
I talked to your dad -- go pick out a white dress
It's a love story, baby just say... yes.
Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh.

'cause we were both young when I first saw you.

$2.75 near Disneyland, so not too bad. Could have dropped since I saw that yesterday though.

Our Costco is about 1/2 hour from my house, but everytime I drive by I stop. A lot of times it goes a lot faster than what it looks like. Especially now that summer is over and the line isn't clogged with large RV's and big trucks pulling boats. But I'm also not in a big city, so your lines might be quite a bit longer than the lines in Carson City

Whenever possible I try to do it in the evening near closing time. Or early in the morning. But it isn't worth it to me to wait in the lines you see much of the rest of the day.

It's interesting to me that the lines I see now are longer than the ones I saw when prices were going up.

Re: So...What Did You Pay for a Gallon of Gas lately?

$2.79 just outside Disneyland (Shell on Harbor and Ball) yesterday. Only cost $40 to fill up (and the light was on). Compared to $65 or $70 in June. Not too shabby.

As for the Costco, for me, most of the time it's not worth it. At least I don't think it has been the last few months. The differences with our Local Costco and the Gas stations around the one in Oxnard (same one Barry goes to) were only about $.10 or $.15 a gallon. Which is only an extra $1.00 or $1.50 per 10 gallons. Not worth a 20 to 30 minute line IMO.

But now it's propably $.30 to $.40 difference. Still not worth it if the line is more than 3 or 4 cars long, at least IMO.

Re: So...What Did You Pay for a Gallon of Gas lately?

Just so that nobody forgets. Exxon just posted a $15 BILLION dollar profit for the 4th quarter...

That said, barrels of oil are trading for about $65, Gas prices are still double what they were when oil was selling for about the same 2 years ago, so don't be too happy that prices have dropped a dollar since this past summer (because we are still being gouged). Fuel prices also tend to drop before an election, but will most likely go up again right after (no matter who loses).

Locally in the four corners it's selling for $2.79
