Table A had a long line & Table B got a Fast Pass well not really but that's what it felt like walking past all the people waiting in line! I was fast passed ![]()

![]() | Re: Crowded at the Polls I voted about half an hour ago for the first time, it was so easy. There was nobody there except for me and one other person.
__________________ Love Song We were both young, when I first saw you. I close my eyes and the flashback starts- I'm standing there, on a balcony in summer air. I see the lights; see the party, the ball gowns. I see you make your way through the crowd- You say hello, little did I know... That you were Romeo, you were throwing pebbles- And my daddy said "stay away from Juliet"- And I was crying on the staircase- begging you please don't go... And I said... Romeo take me somewhere, we can be alone. I'll be waiting; all there's left to do is run. You'll be the prince and I'll be the princess, It's a love story, baby, just say yes. So I sneak out to the garden to see you. We keep quiet, because we're dead if they knew- So close your eyes... escape this town for a little while. Oh, Oh. Cause you were Romeo - I was a scarlet letter, And my daddy said "stay away from Juliet" - but you were everything to me- I was begging you, please don't go- And I said... Romeo take me somewhere, we can be alone. I'll be waiting; all there's left to do is run. You'll be the prince and I'll be the princess. It's a love story, baby, just say yes- Romeo save me, they're trying to tell me how to feel. This love is difficult, but it's real. Don't be afraid, we'll make it out of this mess. It's a love story, baby, just say yes. Oh, Oh. I got tired of waiting. Wondering if you were ever coming around. My faith in you was fading- When I met you on the outskirts of town. And I said... Romeo save me, I've been feeling so alone. I keep waiting, for you but you never come. Is this in my head, I don't know what to think- He knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring and said... Marry me Juliet, you'll never have to be alone. I love you, and that's all I really know. I talked to your dad -- go pick out a white dress It's a love story, baby just say... yes. Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh. 'cause we were both young when I first saw you. |

| Gingerbread Goodness ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Crowded at the Polls I voted! ![]() The line wasn't bad. I did have to wait for the only electronic voting booth. I wanted to ensure that my vote was counted today. If I had used a paper ballot, I would have been in and out of the polling place in under 5 minutes.

![]() | Re: Crowded at the Polls I voted in downtown Long Beach. It's an urban area so I was expecting a large pro-Obama turnout. There were six people in line ahead of me, six people were voting and there were three empty booths. I'd been told that I didn't have to wait in line to hand over my absentee ballot but I did anyway, partly to see how long it would take and partly to see why it was taking all six poll workers to help each voter who approached the table. It turned out to be a matter of us waiting for the poll workers to initiate contact while the they waited for us to do the same. No matter, as the wait was less than 5 minutes until I could hand over my absentee ballot envelope (I waited until the last minute to decide on the props). I was the only one bringing in an envelope and the only one not offered an "I Voted" sticker. Aww! I'll just have to happy with doing my civic duty. |

![]() | Re: Crowded at the Polls I went around 11am and had to wait about minutes. I brought a book along to keep me company. I know this is going to sound weird, but I thought it was great that people were turning out to vote and that I had to wait to make my voice heard. You hear about other countries waiting for hours to cast their one vote and then you hear that only half the people who can vote actually do! So to see a line for a change was kind of cool. |

![]() | Re: Crowded at the Polls I did not have to wait long at all. I went to vote right before they closed the polls in my area. I wanted to take as much time as I could to really look into everything that I could vote on. Last edited by tiny tim; 11-04-2008 at 07:07 PM. |

I live in Snohomish county which is all mail in. However, my friend did not realize until I told her today that she could not go to the same place she did last time (rules changed here in 2005 after the last presidential election). She did not get a ballot in the mail as she had moved and changed her name. She called our local auditor and once they verified she was not mailed a ballot she was given directions to one of the libraries to go change her info and vote. So they do have places to go vote if there were special circumstances, but not as a general rule. I on the other hand voted from my dining room weeks ago... in my pjs, and with my coffee. ![]() | |
