Crowded at the Polls

Just out of curiousity, for those of you who voted today, how big was the crowd, and how long did you have to wait?

Our polling place was phenomenonally packed. However, for out here, that means there were ten people ahead of us.

And if you haven't voted yet, get out there and do it now! Make your voice count!

Re: Crowded at the Polls

Not crowded at all. I only had to wait because the guy in front of me was at the wrong precinct and they were trying to figure out where he should go.

Re: Crowded at the Polls

I ahven't been yet, but the slow down for the last election were the people who waited until the were in the booth to actually decided on how they were going to vote.

Hubby and son1 just got back and they said there was no wait. I will go with son2 when he gets off work as it will be his first time to vote for President!

Re: Crowded at the Polls

I went in at 7:30am and even though there were 4 precincts at the gym I go to mine was the shortest. There were only three people ahead of me.

Re: Crowded at the Polls

I got to my polling place at about 7:45 and there was no line. Walked up, (ok, there was one person checking-in before me) checked my name off the lists, and then cast my ballot.

Felt good.

Re: Crowded at the Polls

Got there about 30 minutes after opening this morning. Only waited about 25 minutes. But they said that was the longest wait they can remember for that early in the day.

Re: Crowded at the Polls

Pulled into the school parking lot at 11:26 EST and pulled out at 11:40 EST.

It seems that when comparing early voting to predictions for today, nobody ever bothered to consider that there are tons more places to vote today than there were last week.

Re: Crowded at the Polls

I early voted last week and waited about 40 minutes in line as some people couldn't make up their mind as to if they wanted to use a paper ballot or electronic.

Re: Crowded at the Polls

My husband waited about 30 minutes this morning. There were 80 people in line in front of him.

I will be voting this afternoon once I pick my kids up from school. They enjoy being a part of the process. Even if they just stand around a lot.

Interesting, so there are no polling places in WA, you have to do mail in?

Same here, nice to do if it is an option. My brother lives in Virginia and they aren't allowed to do mail in.
