Sadly, most of the ads this year are underwhelming. Best Buy's is horrible, but there's a theory that they might be relying on their "secret sales".

What are you on the lookout for this year?

My kinda thread! I love BF! Target and Best Buy are underwhelming this year. I'll be going to Sports Authority and Bath and Body Works. Anything else will just be extra at that point. I will also do some pre-BF shopping online before I head out. Best Buy has started their sales at midnight on Thanksgiving so that's 9:00PM Wed night here on the west coast. Kohl's will be another that I will do online.

I was really hoping to get a good deal on an LCD HDTV but the prices seem very similar to what I'm seeing now. Since I'm in no hurry to buy one, I think I'll wait. I'd like one for in front of my treadmill but it's not a must.

How early do you all head out? Last year I left home at 3:30AM. Not sure about this year but probably the same.

I'm not on the look out for anything. I get the ads emailed to me and all of them are very underwhelming. They certainly won't get me in the stores shopping.

I'll be working (i'm pretty much 95% positive, as I work part-time in retail), so it doesn't matter much to me. Maybe Kohl's depending on their sales and if I need anything and willing to wait an hour in line to pay for it.

But looking at the ads, I see nothing that I need or want at the moment.

The only thing I might be interested in is the 19" HDTV for $199 at Best Buy. I need a new small TV for my computer room. Target will have a 26" one for $299, but that's too big for that room.

Other than that, I'll probably see what I can find at Kohl's.

But I dunno.... I don't get my first paycheck back here at the old job until December 4th. Unless my dad is willing to front me the $$$, I don't think I'll be doing any Black Friday shopping this year.

Working at the Disney Store for my 3rd Black Friday. We're still not sure what the deals are, but it's usually an additional 20% off your entire purchase before 10am plus all the big toys and stuff on sale.
Our store opens at Midnight and this lucky girl gets to be there when the doors open. 12am-9:30am shift. I plan on just not sleeping the night before

I get to work black friday! None too excited about it, I have been at the same place for 3 years, worked my first black friday last year, it was a mad house. I spent 3/4 of my shift calling other stores for customers who knew everywhere was out of what they wanted but they wanted me to "just call anyway." I had things thrown at me because lines were so long. We only have 4 registers and they were all open. Black friday is a nightmare. I work at a Longs Drug store, (same thing as CVS) we open at 5 that day I think.

If you have access to a Costco, they have a Vizio 19" LCD TV that is $229.99. Regular everyday price. We have a coupon for $30 off that model. My husband took the coupon so he could use it this evening. I will look to see if they have that one online.

I have a few things saved in my list this year for Black Friday. We won't have a baby sitter, so my husband and I will have to do shifts. Not sure how much we will buy though. I agree that the ads are crappy. We have a significantly reduced budget for Christmas this year.

One thing I know I will do is hit Circuit City for DVDs. They always have great deals on DVDs. They have 2 GB memory cards for $4.99. I will get a couple of those for sure.

ETA: Costco.com doesn't have the 19" tv listed on their website.

I need to find out of Kohl's will do a raincheck if my toaster sells out. I've been waiting for a good coupon so I can pick up a specific toaster, and it's on their BF early bird sale, 4am -1pm, but there's no way I can be there at 4am, not with an 8 month old! I can probably be there by 7:30, just hope there's no line, and that they still have my toaster!
