    Streets Of Philadelphia

Have you heard this song? Every time I listen to it, I cry. There's no stopping it ... the tears start flowing ... does Streets of Philadelphia do that to you? Do you have any songs that do this to you?? Or am I just weird?

No you're not weird, unless I am too. That song doesn't make me cry, but one called IOU by Jimmy Dean does. I can't listen to it without tearing up and crying. I have it on my iTunes but usually when it starts to play I stop it and move on to another song.

Not only that song, but pretty much everything that has anything to do with the film it comes from make my eyes a bit watery. The opera song/scene in the film is the part that really makes me sob though. Guess it's the personal conection with the subject matter...

Skin by Rascal Flatts does that to me.
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

Yes, Streets of Philadelphia, definately one of Bruce's best and strongest.
For me my other choice is from his late, great friend Warren Zevon.

Shadows are falling and I'm running out of breath
Keep me in your heart for awhile

If I leave you it doesn't mean I love you any less
Keep me in your heart for awhile

When you get up in the morning and you see that crazy sun
Keep me in your heart for awhile

There's a train leaving nightly called when all is said and done
Keep me in your heart for awhile

    Sha-la-la-la-la-la-la-li-li-lo
Keep me in your heart for awhile

    Sha-la-la-la-la-la-la-li-li-lo
Keep me in your heart for awhile

Sometimes when you're doing simple things
    around the house
Maybe you'll think of me and smile

You know I'm tied to you like the buttons on
    your blouse
Keep me in your heart for awhile

Hold me in your thoughts, take me to your dreams
Touch me as I fall into view

When the winter comes keep the fires lit
And I will be right next to you

Engine driver's headed north to Pleasant Stream
Keep me in your heart for awhile

These wheels keep turning but they're running out
    of steam
Keep me in your heart for awhile

    Sha-la-la-la-la-la-la-li-li-lo
Keep me in your heart for awhile

    Sha-la-la-la-la-la-la-li-li-lo

    Re: Streets Of Philadelphia

Depending on the time of the month...

    Beach Boys songs.
    Any song concerning daddy issues.
    Certain love songs.
    Broadway musicals.

And some days of the month I need to make absolutely sure nobody around me plays country music...
