Recently Life made many of their images available via google which was great to look through.. but did you know the Library of Congress has been putting images up on Flickr too?

There are some amazing shots including panaromas from disasters such as the San Francisco Quake, etc.

These photos are just amazing. I've spent the better half of the afternoon going through and then reading the comments by some very knowledgeable contributers about who the people are in the photographs. I feel like I'm getting a history lesson. Thanks so much for posting this.

The various types.. especially if you start browsing the LOC pages... is staggering. The Flickr pages are a mere sliver of what they have digitized. It's amazing. Some day these will be easily searched too.. its great to have the Library of Congress and National Archives

Congress has a much better library than the one in Oceanside. Ours only has a stepladder, but this library is much better.
