You know your from SoCal if ...

YOU KNOW YOU'RE FROM SO-CAL IF.......

    - Your monthly house payments exceed your annual income.

    - You drive next to a Rolls Royce and don't notice.

    - You don't know anyone's phone number unless you check your cell phone.

    - You speak Spanish, but you're not Mexican. (Or you're Mexican but can't speak Spanish)

-You begin to "lie" to your friends about how close you are when you know damn well that it'll take you at least an hour to get there. **Getting anywhere from point A to point B, no matter what the distance, takes about "twenty minutes".

    - You drive to your neighborhood block party.

-In the "winter", you can go to the beach and ski at Big Bear on the same day.

-You eat a different ethnic food for every meal. (Taco Bell does not count)

    - If your destination is more than 5 minutes away on foot, you're definitely driving.

-Calling your neighbors requires knowing their area code.

-You know what 'In N Out' is and feel bad for all the other states because they don't have any.

    - You don't stop at a STOP sign, you do a "California Roll".

-You really can never be too rich or too thin or too tan.

    - You've partied in Tijuana at least 3 times... You don't remember at least 1 of them.

    - You go to a tanning salon before going to the beach.

    - You know what a Mexican Pizza is, and it's not the one at Taco Bell.

-Your cell phone has left a permanent impression on the side of your head.

    - You think that Venice is a beach.

    - The waitress asks if you'd like "carbs" in your meal.

    - You know who the tinsel underwear dude in Venice Beach is.

    - You classify new people you meet by their Area Code. An "818" would never date a "562" and anyone from "323" or "213" is ghetto/second class. Best area cod! e: "714." Nobody likes anyone from the "909" because it stinks there.

    - You call 911 and they put you on hold.

    - You have a gym membership because it's mandatory.

    - The gym is packed at 3pm...on a workday.

    - You think you are better than the people who live "Over the Hill". It doesn't matter which side of the hill you are currently residing, you are just better than them, for whatever reason.

    - You know that if you drive two miles in any direction you will find a McDonald's or a Starbucks.

    - You know what "sigalert", "PCH", and "the five" mean.

    - You can't remember . . . is pot illegal?

-It's barely sprinkling rain and there's a report on every news station: "STORM WATCH"

    - The Terminator is your governor.

-You know that Taco Bell ISN'T Mexican Food.

I agree with you on that. I just recently moved out of Cali to a state that does not have any In-N-Out burgers. I love their shakes though.

Marge: Barnacle Bill's Home Pregnancy Test? Homer, shouldn't we have gone with a better-known brand?
Homer: But Marge, this one came with a corn-cob pipe!
Marge: [reading from the test box] "Ahoy, Maties! If the water turns blue, a baby for you! If purple ye see, no baby thar be!"
Homer: So, which is it? Blue or purple?
    Marge: Pink.
    Homer: D'oh!

You also know what 'Hang a left' means, when you're driving with someone.

You also remember what hanging on Van Nuys Blvd on Wednesday nights meant.

In High School, you could get credit for Surfing Class.

I take it some O.C snob wrote this.

    - You call 911 and they put you on hold.
Yep this happened to me in the Valley. Some jerk was trying to run my friend and me of the freeway. I called 911, didn't get an answer for a while, finally got one, got put on hold. It was really fun when the guy blocked us in a parking lot at a gas station.

-You know what 'In N Out' is and feel bad for all the other states because they don't have any.

That's my husband and I. He can speak perfect spanish, I can barely say Hola.

Also, you try to guess the magnitude and the location before it pops up on the USGS web site.

And you usually guess correctly ....to the point!

You laughed all the way through "L.A. Story" because it was all SOOOO true!

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...

This one is completely incorrect. 323 and 213 serve the USC community. I hardly consider anyone paying $40,000/year just for an education as ghetto/second class.

Didn't the last thread with socio-economic stereotypes get thrown in the Litter Box?

If Steve Martin didn't have a different name than his own in the film, you'd swear it was a documentary...
