That is so weird that you actually had an abscess, because one of the side effects from this particular flu has been gum, tooth and jaw aches. One of my professors said she thought she had something wrong with her mouth and wanted to call the dentist. I developed an achy mouth as well, but nothing beyond plain soreness.
Thank youI've been drinking a lot of water and juices (and no caffeine
). This my first time on an antibiotic so I lay down, and I'm asleep for hours after I take one of the tablets. I haven't had any caffeine since Thursday. Without it, I feel like there's a hole in my head. This morning, I noticed the swelling was going down.
I had the joint soreness and muscle aches on Tuesday through Thursday, which I assumed was arthritis or something. Looking back, I had a lot of the symptoms that sounded just like the side effects from your post aside from the swollen jaw. Because of the swollen jaw, I had to wanted to go to the dentist, which saved me. The dentist told me that an abscess may show no symptoms at all. Hopefully, you or your professor doesn't have one. It's horrible. I've been having trouble with this tooth since high school so I'm getting it extracted. The other option was a root canal.
Hope everyone is feeling better now.
I had the virus thingy, and it hung on in my sinuses in the form of an infection. Dr. put me on antibiotics, which also really messed up my stomach. I also found out I'm anemic, so I know why I'm tired all the time.
Hubby was off work Thursday and Friday because he got sick as well. The worst part of this thing is that is just leaves you feeling tired and worn out and lousy, long after you're not 'sick' anymore.
BTW...you really can't reinfect yourself with the same virus. You can get a similar, mutated version of the one you had but you won't get the same one again. It doesnt hurt to change toothbrushes after an illness for the sake of bacteria, though.
Yay! Anemia! I have that. I can give you a good list of non-icky but iron rich foods. And certain foods have so much iron, but you wouldn't be able to guess.
Caffiene withdrawals suck! Once you get better are you laying off the coffee or....?
So felt great Thursday, but now I'm starting to notice snot and throat issues. So I'm taking it easy and hoping it all goes away by Friday, when I leave for my trip.
Yeah, I don't think I'll let it go anytime soon. When I have the flu, I have to stop drinking it. I can usually tell that I'm getting better when I can stomach a cup of coffee
Ugh ... the snot and throat issues can't be good news! I hope you can fight it all off by Friday because of your trip. Nobody wants to go on a trip with a cold/flu.
(By the way, I just read my previous post, and it sounded really scatter brained. I wonder what I was thinking when I wrote that).
