anyone one have the flu and cough?

hey guys,

I can't believe i have the cough and the flu. am i the only one? so do you have the coughs and the flu?

It must be the spring weather thing.

I've been sick since about Saturday. I finally feel better today though!

Rex just lots of rest (and that doesn't mean t.v.), naps, fluids (juice, tea, water, no soda or coffee), and a blankie will help soooo much! Feel better.

I had the bad cough and no voice when I got home from DL, so some good cough meds (that knocked me out), some hot chocolate and just rest helped.

I'm starting to develop both...achy back stuffy nose, runnin nosie, watery eyes, oh yeah...Im going to have a "fun" weekend..I feel your pain.

I had a nasty eye infection last weekend though.

Yes! I just got over this. 3 and a half weeks later and I'm still clearing my throat. It started out innocent enough with just a mild sore throat, when I woke up the next day...wow the symptoms really kicked in. Swollen glands, body aches, stuffy and runny nose, cough (which later turned nasty and phlegmy). You name it, I had it. The only thing that kept me sane was Day and Ny Quil. After about a week though, I was just about immune to those medicines and nothing was working at that point past nose spray. Nose spray is a God send. After 2 weeks I saw the doctor who told me this was just a routine cold/flu and that just about everybody had it. That was one of the nastier cold/flus that I've had. Next year I'm getting a flu shot!

i had this at the beginning of march, my body just ached (my joints) coughing away, i still have a slight cough, hope you feel better soon

To those with chest congestion.... buy some Mucinex. That stuff is a godsend and it works fast. I don't know how I lived without it. I've had a couple bad chest colds over the last few years and this stuff helped break the phlegm down so you can hack it up faster to get it out of your system. Plus if you get the DM kind, it'll help suppress your cough, but when you do cough, it'll be productive. I don't know why my dad didn't recommend it sooner (especially since he's a pharmacist).

I'm finally getting over it, now I'm just dealing with the leftover cough and chest congestion.

My kids at work yesterday were kind of silly, "Your voice is way different now that your not sick anymore..." as I'm still a little hoarse

oh i know. I had to go the doctor last night in the middle of the night because I had bronchitis attack. which kept me coughing and no sleep whats so ever. they gave me fluids and pills, and medicine and i think it help lol. I was kinda shaky during these treatments lol.

Remember once you get better to get a new toothbrush. It's silly, but it makes a big difference. You don't want to reinfect yourself.

I had a really unlucky week.

On Tuesday, I woke up with sore joints, and I had a hard time swallowing. On Wednesday, I found out that my neck was swollen, which is why I was having trouble swallowing. On Thursday, I noticed that it wasn't my neck, but it was my lower right jaw. I made a dentist appointment. The earliest that I could get was Monday. I also developed a cough on this day. At night, I researched as much as I could about swollen jaw, and I got extremely worried. This morning, I woke up, and my family helped me call all the dentists in our area.

Fortunately, I could get an appointment. I got an xray and found out that I had an abscess in one of my teeth. I'm on an antibiotic, which won't help that darn cough (antibiotics don't help with viruses only bacteria). Normally, I have a really good immune system. I'm assuming that my bodies failed attempt (the swelling) to get rid of the abscess bacteria infection weakened my immune system so I caught a small cold.

I can't even stomach coffee. I tried to drink it, but my body just doesn't want anything to do with it. I have the biggest coffee withdraw headache!

That's really good advice! That's one thing the dentist never told me, ever.
