    South Pacific

Well since I've been back I've been looking for theatrical opportunities, and I finally found one. I auditioned, and found out today I was cast as Luther Billis, in South Pacific, so I'm quite happy.

Has anyone else done a production of South Pacific before? Just curious.

"There is nothin' like a dame,
    Nothin' in the world,
There is nothin' you can name
That is anythin' like a dame!"

GREAT musical!!!! One of my faves!!! Congrats, Tui!!!
Marge: Barnacle Bill's Home Pregnancy Test? Homer, shouldn't we have gone with a better-known brand?
Homer: But Marge, this one came with a corn-cob pipe!
Marge: [reading from the test box] "Ahoy, Maties! If the water turns blue, a baby for you! If purple ye see, no baby thar be!"
Homer: So, which is it? Blue or purple?
    Marge: Pink.
    Homer: D'oh!
Marge: "If ye test should fail, to a doctor set sail!"

Congrats, but just make sure not to buy a cheap coconut bra from party city, that thing chafes like a bitch.

egads.. I loathe South Pathetic. I have done the show before though and it fun because of the people involved. Let's just say that the theater added a few rules to the list they hand out thanks to that group. At least you got the most fun role!

    Re: South Pacific

Billis! That's the *best* role! And it can be played so many ways too. You don't have to be "tough guy" Billis, you can actually play it more "heart of gold" style, or anywhere in between. Fantastic role. Remember though, it's a character role, so be sure to bring character to it!

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...
