Childhood dog/friend died

Unfortunately,

Max, my golden retriever of 12 years has passed away on Thursday, April 2. He has been my buddy since the third grade for me and I'm currently grieving. I was also the last person to see before he passed. I let him know how much of my best friend he has been and what a good dog he is.

He is now in doggie heaven and the last thing I told him was...

"Until next time, see you soon old boy"

Rest in peace, Max. I love you boy.

i know exactly what you are going through as we had to put our dog Buster to sleep a couple of weeks ago because he was found to have lung cancer.

Early in the morning of June 2, 2006, I lost my beloved Shuggie - and chihuahua mix that was the great love of my life, pet-wise anyway.

My wife and I cried for the better part of a week, and the hurt never really has gone away.

I'm sure that my Shuggie and your Max are already running, laughing and playing with each other, along the rainbow bridge.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

when we got Buster's ashes back from the vets last week they came with a copy of that Rainbow Bridge poem/story. it was a beautiful gesture, and lovely sentiment. that copy of it is going in Buster's memory box

Some people think they are just pets, but as anyone who has had and lost a fur family member knows... they are every bit a part of our family just like a parent, sibling or anyone else.
