Stain removal from velvet? HELP!

Hi everyone. I just got my Halloween costume in the mail, and it has a strange spot on it. The costume is new...so, I'm not sure what the stain is. The part of the costume with the stain is black velvet. It looks as if something liquid was spilled on it. Is there anyway to safely clean it? Thanks!

I would send it back! And if not, then take it to a dry cleaners and have them try to remove the stain. Good luck!

I ended up just trying water and a washcloth. MOst of it has come out....you can only see it, if you REALLY look for it. So, I think it'll be fine. Thanks!

I wonder what it was?

I would have responded if I had any suggestions, but I had nothing, sorry. I'm glad it's mostly out though.

Something else I was wondering was why you'd be getting a Halloween costume in April. Costume party? Show us pics!

I have NO idea what it was. It was only on the black part of the costume. Maybe it was something that happened during manufacturing.

It's not for right now, actually. It's for the MNSSHP we'll be going to in Sept. I'm just one of those people who like to take care of everything as soon as possible. haha. I will definately post a trip report with lots of pictures!

I will agree with that! That much preparation is a foreign concept to me. I stand in awe of your superior organizational skills.

Now let's see if I can remember to remind you by then. Not that you'll need reminding.
