That is a great story for the grandkids. How cute!
I met her a year later. We dated thru highschool and we went to college together. We won another state chamionship when I was a senior and I went on to play college ball for Cincinnati. Now I coach my kids... They crack-up everytime they hear this story. It keeps me humble.
I guess my wife saw something there worth holding on to (so to speak).
I hated my most embarrassing moment. It was terrible! My sophomore year, I was like, IN LOVE with this kid who shall remain nameless because he's such a JERK!!!! AND HE CAN DIE!! Anyway, him and I were walking together, and he just randomly says, "Hey, would it be okay if I can kiss you?" And internally I'm screaming, jumping up and down, turning cartwheels, because I LOVED this kid! But you know, I have to play it cool. So I say, "Sure." Lame, right? Anyways, so I say, "sure", and we lean in, and we're right there, about to make contact, and he backs off and laughs!! I was so mad. I flipped him the bird and walked off. Jerk!!!
The senior sisters tooks out her new freshman little sister for a fancy lunch where we each received a handful of matches. Later, we were dressed up in baby clothes and made to sell the matchbooks to foreign tourist. My freshman initiation!
