| Re: I am off to the Emergency Room This happened to my grandmother. She woke up one morning, felt fine...went to drink her coffee, and it dribbled down her shirt. She couldn't figure out why till she looked in the mirror and half of her face was sagging. She was a RN, and knew she had to go to the doctor right away. I honestly can't remember if it was a stroke or Bell's Palsy. I know year's later, she had another stroke. I had been sick, and she called to check on me. I noticed she was talking funny, and handed the phone to my mom. When we got to her house, she was on the floor, unable to walk or open the door. A wonderful man stopped and help us break into her house. She was fine after receiving medical attention. But, she lived with us for years after that. I hope that your's is nothing serious. And that you recover to the fullest that you can. Please, keep us informed.

| Re: I am off to the Emergency Room Well it was Bells Palsy not a stroke. They had me do a Cat Scan and that proved what all the nurses where saying as soon as they saw me. The scan came back clear with no sign of strokes so that was a big releif. Bells Palsy is one of those "unknown how or why" things. It happens quickly but will go away in a few weeks or months. I have new pills to take 5 times a day for 10 days. No pain and only the right side of my face is a little saggy looking and the eye is open all the time it turns out. So thanks to all for your good wishes and two of you got it before I did. I feel much better knowing it was not a stroke. And the reason I didn't go in right away, I couldn't afford it until today. Kaiser is cheaper than going without insureance, but it still costs money nonetheless. And everything turned out alright but next time something like this happens, I will go as soon as it happens, or at least the next day. Thanks again for all your kind wishes. It makes me feel good to be a member of this group. You guys and gals are the best!!!

I really am glad you got diagnosed and will be doing better soon. I believe that the actor Pierce Brosnan had this problem a few years ago and is doing terrific now. As others have said, if something seems wrong, don't wait!
