Larry, Moe, Shemp, & Curly. Which one did you like the most.

Most people do not realize that shemp was one of the original 3 stooges before Curly (The fat bald one) arrived on the scene. I like schemp though even if he is a forgotten stooge.

Moe, because he was one.

For somereason when I always tell people that their was another stooge before curly, they always think I am wrong.

Is there a small stooge fan base here on Mice Chat or something? I thought there would have been a bigger turnout.

Wasn't there a 5th stooge called Joe?

I don't think so. All I know is that from 1930 to 1931 there was Moe, Larry, & Shemp. Then after that when the production team changed it was Moe, Larry, & Curly

Joe replaced Shemp in the mid 50s. He wasn't that funny from what I remember.

Joe Besser. He was horrid. Curly Joe Derita replaced Joe Besser. Curly is buried in Home of Peace in Boyle Heights.

If I recall correctly, Joe Besser thought being a stooge was beneath him. He pretty much refused to do the pie fights and such. Curly Joe thought it was the greatest gig ever!

I'm a huge Stooge fan. What people didn't know back then was that Shemp wanted to do real movies. Curly replaced him and became the funny one. Then Curly got sick and Moe and Larry asked Shemp to return. Curly eventually died but people thought Shemp replaced Curly and were mad about it. They didn't know how sick Curly really was. Also, now that you asked, Curly was a ladie's man. He would date then marry a young lady, divorce her and give all of his money to her. Then he would do it all over again. Yes, I love the Stooges!

So was it Shemp then Joe then Curly?

I've always liked Curly best I think because I am shaped so much like him. :lol:

you can't ask what stooge is your favorite. They are a co-dependant group. Without one of them, the others would suck. It's like asking what my favorite breath of air is.

Can you guys tell me more about this Joe stooge? When did he come in? Who did he replace? Who replaced him?

I think it goes:
1925 Moe/Larry/Shemp
1934 Moe/Larry/Curly <----This is one most people remember
1947 Moe/Larry/Shemp
1955 Moe/Larry/Joe
1958 Moe/Larry/Curly Joe
1970a Moe/Curly Joe/Emil

So, the first Joe came in the mid 1950s to replace Shemp who replaced Curly who replaced Shemp. The first Joe left and was replaced by Curly Joe. Eventually Larry died, and Emil was named the 3rd stooge....but I don't think he appeared in a film with the other two.

Moe, Shemp, and Curly were all brothers in real life.
