I used to go to Comic Con for many years, but it has become unbearable to stand in the crowds, to the point that the convention floor is not fun for me any more. For this reason, I didn't get a badge this year. But I very much appreciate you allowing me a glimpse inside the Con. AWESOME pics and great report!
I remember standing in line to get badges the day of the Con several years ago that stretched to Seaport Village and thinking "Wow, this is CRAZY!" I thought that was the pinnacle of popularity. But oh how I yearn for those days now... When Saturday was the only remotely overcrowded day and badges didn't sell out! But I digress... :P
Stupid Twilight people, ruining it for the rest of the geeks. I am really very sick of that franchise.
ARE YOU CRAZY!?! Any franchise that brings tons of females into the geek culture is a good thing. While I could care less about Twilight, anything that brings more women into geek culture is a good thing. While I am certain that a percentage of those women were there only for Twilight, others may have become more geeky. Look at it this way...
Twilight leads to Buffy, which leads to all Joss Whedon, which leads to Astonishing X-Men, which leads to comicbooks and so on. Trust me, Twilight is a good thing.
