lol the guy in the Bumblebee mech suit is a friend of mine XD its a bummer his friend laura couldn't make it to the con, as she as an accompanying Jazz costume she premiered at AX earlier this month.

Love the Alice In Wonderland photos, the costumes and the props look awesome.

There was a Heroes Carnival across the street. Free popcorn, free cotton candy, free snowcones. And free games.

    still more to come

Disney dazzles once again in a superb form of viral marketing. They put together an 80s arcade, all for free.

Super secret location pretty much unless you walked passed it. The first night, you basically had to go on a scavenger hunt to find it.

The Tron arcade opens into a door

Concept art is shown in the hall

And then around the corner we are presented with a view of a full sized Light Cycle

Again, thanks for being so consistent about posting photos. THAT TRON ARCADE LOOKS SO FUN. Disney has got to be applauded for all the effort. The Alice in Wonderland touring exhibit was just too cool. There was so much STUFF there!

Wow Coheteboy! Next time I go to Comic Con, I want to go with you!
I'll carry your luggage for you.
My sister and I were there on Thursday for just the day and had to cram seeing as much as possible into that one day. I had no idea that all of that extra stuff was taking place outside of the Convention Center. If I ever go again, I'll spend the money and stay the full convention.
Thanks for taking the time to post all of the photos. It looks like your having a great time.

I haven't gone for the last few years, due to money issues. I definitely wish that I'd gone this year. Thank you Coheteboy, the pics are making me drool.

Thanks for all the great pics and info!!
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

Not that much. Pretty common game... most stuff is available in reproduction form as well making it easy to refurb one to like new condition. Plus, stand-alone arcade game market was decimated by the multi-game cabinets driving the price of most games into the ground. Cabinets weren't worth the space they were taking up anymore..

Re: Coheteboy Does San Diego Comic-Con 40

Thanks everyone for sticking with it! I just got back to the Orange County and currently editing both Saturday and Sunday's photos so it might be hours before I have the next update. But it looks like Brand42 has started his so that should keep everyone busy too!

    Fun facts:
-I took a total of 1466 photos, 990 of that I considered "keepers".
-I only paid for dinner one time. Other times it was comp'd or treated.
-I only ate lunch twice during the entire 5 day con: saturday and sunday
-Enjoyed free drinks thursday night, friday night, and saturday night
-brought three pairs of shoes and one pair of sandals.

And you probably brought loads of clean underwear since after seeing all the cool new stuff, it caused you to make a face like this:

Thanks for the photos so far. Lookin' forward to seeing Saturday and Sunday's stuff. Oh, and those Indy figures; apparently they were a hoax. Here's the pics that were posted to various message boards of the "revealed" Indy figs:
