I am working today...a "board operator" for the local Dodger radio network affililiate in Ventura. Means I push buttons and volume controls to make sure the right things get on the air at the right time.

Well, the ninth inning is one of those where I don't have a "local" spot break. So at the beginning of the inning, after I put Rick Monday and Charley Steiner back on the air, I walked down the hall, out into the parking lot...and after turning up our outdoor monitor to make sure that we were still on the air...

I took a brisk ten-minute walk.

There's probably two or three spots in a broadcast I work where I can do that.

I'm giving myself an "attaboy".

That's actually very good, Barry! Here's another 'attaboy' for you.

I am a member of the Fitness and Nutrition club and wouldn't mind using that for us. The only thing that I have a very slight problem with is that it is an open club and anyone that wants to can go and see what you are doing. It would make me leary about posting my weight and so forth where anyone can read it. Call me a woman to the utmost point if you want.

Yes, I would like a private club but no gold dam husband for taking away all cards

Success is often preceded by one or more failures. Remember that, and don't give up.

No more open than here. At least you have to join the club. I did a search and found a "Dieters Anonymous" Club. I don't know if it's private, but I have no burning desire to go there. I feel better off supporting Barry here.

Awesome website penguinsoda! Thanks! It's really helpful. My biggest obstacle is food. I like how you can track what you're eating and it tells you how many calories you've had that day.

Thanks Barry for starting this thread! I needed a little jump start. I could definitely lose 55lbs. for the 55th. I am 5'2" and 195lbs. My daughter is two so I can no longer use the excuse of...I just had a baby.

I'm just gonna take this one step at a time.

Do I need to eat healthier? Yes
Do I need to start exercising? Yes
Do I need to drink water instead of soda? Yes
Do I need to stop eating fast food? Yes
Do I need to start doing all of this today? NO

I would fail so miserably. So the first steps that I'm taking is no more fast food and to replace at least one soda today with a glass of water. Then tomorrow I will replace two. And so on...
Tomorrow I also plan on starting some sort of exercise plan. I have a little gym at my apartment complex that I can go use and I also have a wii and a wii fit.

I have heard that it's good to stop eating and drinking at a certain time at night. Does anybody do this? What time? Can you atleast still drink water?

Have you started the nutrisystem food Barry? How does it taste?

One step at a time, PG. Not everything at a fast food place is bad for you, but you have to be very picky. And it helps to look at the nutritional information before you set foot in the place.

I would say it's a good idea to stop eating for the day at the end of dinner. And you can drink water any time.

Definitely start the day with breakfast. Skipping breakfast puts your body in a fasting mode, slowing your metabolism, and making it even harder to lose weight.

I don't know about private. I just stumbled upon this thread today in the forums, and I think I'll join. 55 for the 50th. Let's do it! I was able to get to my goal weight a few years ago, and now I've probably climbed about 100+

I just need to get back into a healthy lifestyle, and having support like this will be great. Let's go Barry!

I will check this thread to add my assistance and "attaboys". I guess I'll keep those 55 pounds off for the 55th to show my support!

So, I bought those new Shape Ups from Sketchers and they are appearing to do their job. I walked into work this morning and this lady that I work with complimented me saying that it looked as if I lost weight and I somehow seemed taller now also. She has no idea I have been wearing those shoes outside of work so she genuinely saw a change not knowing my shoes might be working miracles!
