Sparky the Sun Devil = Walt Disney?

Ok, I knew from college orientation days that Arizona State's mascot Sparky the Sun Devil was designed by a Walt Disney artist, but only today did I discover this connection (thank you Alumni News

. Disney artist Berk Anthony designed Sparky. Anthony worked at Disney in the late 30's and early 40's. Rumors persist that Walt himself designed Sparky, but many people simply believe that Anthony modeled Sparky after Walt.

Really cool Anders. The Modesto Bee "Scoopy" mascot (local Newpaper)
is also made by Walt Disney Studios also. http://24hour.route99live.com/service/scoopy.html

And yes the mascot in your picture does look like him.
