Re: Why are MCers NEVER pleased?

Get over yourself, Dolewhipman! This board is here for everyone to voice their opinions on all things Disney. I miss the waffle fries. Did it ruin my whole day? No.
Am I going to "call the park, and bombard City Hall with complaints about it"? No.
You're rant is so long and obnoxious that you obviously have a lot of time on your hands, my friend!

You could argue that some MCers love the park and point out it's weaknesses only in the hopes of fixing them to make it the best park it could be.

You could also argue that some people just love to complain.

Talking about the trivial is what this website is all about. We're not solving world hunger here, we're talking about a theme park. What weighty political issues were you expecting?

That's just how it is, unfortunately, you can't really please everyone. Everyone has their own opinion. Especially here.
*first time posting*

I had just mentioned to a buddy of mine a few days ago about how DLR is a double-edged sword in a way.

Because of the space limitations if anything new is to be built or reconstructed it means something has to go away. That almost ALWAYS causes a split down the middle between those who hold on tightly to the "classics" and those who embrace the new era of rides and attractions.

The way I see it (and yes I am guilty of holding on to a few past rides myself) is that people hold on to those old rides and attractions because it seems like its a piece of THEIR childhood that they feel like they are losing. Lets face it as people get older they cling on to what keeps them young at heart, and it can also be that people get bitter knowing the last remnants of Walt's park (meaning rides and attractions he actually helped create and develop) are slowly fading away and its hard for them to cope with it. I'm pretty balanced about old and new, my only concern is that whatever is being replaced should be done so by somethign of equal or better value (can't say that happened with CBJ/MAOWP)

Anyway just thought I would throw in my 2 cents, eventhough it is kind of off-topic.

Facinating..

A person is not pleased with those not pleased.

Yet cannot seem to see it.

Facinating.

So what would you say if Disney changed from Dole Whips to Soft Serve Ice Cream?

Would you complain about that?

Everyone has their favorites.

Right now, the big complaint in the food department is the change in the Corn Dog, from an 8 inch All Beef Dog to now a blend of beef and chicken that is 6 inches long. Of course, Disney doesn't lower it price to reflect the cheaper product being served.

What is wrong in expecting a Premium product at the higher prices that Disney charges.

I just read that they removed the side that used to come with the Pizza at Village Haus, and of course, no price reduction even though you get less food now.

I am looking forward to the new World of Color, Star Tours, Little Mermaid and Cars Land, but right now Disney is trying to nickle and dime us to death, but some of it is by reduction, not price increases.

If they want to make more money, why not add an extra 50 cents to the price of the Corn Dog, and keep the classic one that fans have loved for the last few years... Why change something that isn't "broken"???

Re: Why are MCers NEVER pleased?

Isn't that the internet though?

Random people commenting on random things.

People are going to like things, and they're going to dislike things. In this case, on a board about all things Disney the comments will be about Disney. Sometimes it's people generally concerned with those type of things, and sometimes it's just people wanting to start a debate.

People will complain all the time. Are the sometimes pointless? Yes. Is it sometimes fair criticisms? Yes. If that bothers you don't read the threads that have complaints on them.

Hi.

I have tried everything offered at the Disney Park as of late and honestly... nothing is as good as it should have been. Yah, it would be great to stop complaining about stuff wouldn't it? But wouldn't it be even greater if Disney raised the bar instead of lowering it?

Re: Why are MCers NEVER pleased?

I don't get to visit Disneyland, or Disney World much. My most recent trip was to Disney World in late August. MiceChat helped me greatly in the planning of my trip. I discussed different aspects of my trip with MiceChatters, and I got varied opinions, on both sides.

I remember when I planned my very first trip to Disneyland back in 2005. MiceChatters were very helpful, to me a newcomer.

Not everyone has the same opinion on things. However, I found that for the most part, MiceChatters were pretty close to the mark on their assesments.

I have been pleased with the opinions that I have received here at MiceChat. I really like the honesty that I have seen, both good and bad on all the different aspects of Disneyland and Disney World, the two parks that I have visited.

Never, is a broad statement. It doesn't fit the MiceChat that I have grown to love, respect and count on for my information.

because of the lowering of the bar. I no longer eat meals in the parks. We usually go to the garden walk. I don't go nearly as often and I have stopped staying int he Disney hotels. When May comes around I don't think the pass will be renewed.

I do know complaining about everything will not change anything. Disney will do what Disney wants to do. However, I don't have to deal with it or continue to go there when it is no longer meeting my level of what I think it should be. The deal breaker for me will quickly have me labeled as a snob and maybe I am, but that one disney decision has made my mind up. Unless it changes then I have lost interst in the parks.

Thanks, Roo!

MiceChat is open to EVERYONE's point of view, and not everyone is going to be completely happy with all changes, new attractions, closures, new entertainment, and other issues facing the DL resort. That's not to say that a particular opinion is of the majority. It's just bringing to awareness what changes have been noticed.

And this IS is Disney chat board, so we are going to discuss the size of corndogs, and fire hydrants that need to be painted. You don't have to agree with all points of view hear ~ and really, THAT would be impossible, but if you don't like reading about different perspectives or certain topics, then you are welcome to post your viewpoint on the topic, or ignore it.

But to criticize someone's topic that is critiquing something that someone dislikes, is rather futile. However if you you share your point of view, of what you like or dislike about changes/additions/deletions of things in DL, then that can contribute to a discussion.

Re: Why are MCers NEVER pleased?

People are more likely to complain about something than they are to discuss how much they like the Haunted Mansion for the umpteenth time.

It tends to make users of boards such as this one seem more negative than they actually are, imo.
