Not to make light of a potentially bad situation.... but I just can't seem to muster up any fear of something named "Wilma". Just makes me think of the Flintstones ya know?

Just think, after this we start the Greek alphabet. Somehow Hurricane Alpha just doesn't have the same name-power that both Ivan and Katrina had.

Well that would put it exactly ONE CITY SOUTH OF ME! but I'm not at all panicked (sp?). I'm just keeping an eye on things. This morning they were showing it much farther south, just crossing the tip of Florida. Even that isn't until Saturday though so we have time to wait and watch.

Not to mention, that Tampa isn't much better than sarasota for me. I'm pretty much at the mouth of the bay to the south of you, so it would most likely pass over me on it's way to you.... of course if a storm was to take out the barrier islands, then I would own coastal property and I could make a fortune selling it........ just kidding. Wouldn't want to go through that even for the financial gain.

Do you know what really gets to me sometimes? People who say "why do they live in Florida with all these hurricanes hitting them?" Then I simply say back, "Why do people live in California when Earthquakes may get them?" "Why do people live in Kansas when tornado's can hit them?" etc. Sorry I just had to say that since this thread somewhat deals with Hurricanes.

I would take Earthquakes over Hurricanes any day! Earthquakes tend to last for a minute tops, you can build for them, and you don't have to deal with winds ripping you to shreds! For those of you who are afraid of the falling buildings just remember that California has some of the strictest (sp) laws regarding the construction of buildings.

Heh... I live just north of Largo... literally like a half mile or something like that.

    Wilma is already a hurricane.

    I'm just sayin'.

    PANIC! PANIC PANIC!

GO TO THE STORES AND BUY EVERYTHING ON THE SHELF!

    CREATE AN UNNECESSARY GAS SHORTAGE!

Okay I'm being overly snarky tonight. I need a drink (or 2 or 3 or 4...).
