    Talking Disney Shoes!

Hola! A couple of months ago I was glancing around deviantart.com and saw some people were making custom shoes. I thought this was the coolest thing ever (I'm easily amazed), so I started making some for myself and friends and family. A lot of the shoes I've painted are Disney shoes, so I thought I should share them on here.

    Here's my first pair:

I made my friend and me buddy shoes. She has Disneyland by day and I have Magic Kingdom by night.

    Here's the rest:

And even though they're not Disney, these are the shoes I wear everyday:

P.S. The Haunted Mansion shoes glow in the dark!

My family, friends and I always wear our Disney shoes to the parks. It's like wearing matching t-shirts, but less noticeable and more awesome!

Have the parks inspired you to create anything like a scrapbook, painting, etc.? Share what ya' got!

Also, to see the very few shoes I haven't posted on here, visit my facebook page. They're in the album "Let's get some shoes." And if you want to see some great Disney art, go to deviantart.com and check out some of brichan's stuff. She's beastly and what really inspired me to start the shoe making nonsense!

these are incredible! I would so wear most of these every day. do you treat them with something so they're rain-proof?

I put a gloss varnish on them to keep them from fading and getting ruined by the rain. The varnish also adds depth to the images.

    oh, and THANK YOU!

I've done some under the table sales with two pairs to my cousin and her friend, but I'm not sure if I could sell them due to copyright laws and such. If I could though, I'd totally go for it!

Yep! And thanks, those two pairs were the only two I sold ($50 for each pair), the rest are gifts.

To keep them nice, I put a gloss varnish on them.

Thanks a bunch! I use whatever brand of fabric paint they have at Walmart.

That's awesome! I'm planning on making some of the Monster's Inc. shoes from PPP for Halloween. And when you finish, mind sharing the shoes you made? I'd love to see them!

Thanks! Typically, I don't have to prep the shoes before I sketch the designs onto them. I usually use white canvas shoes, but whenever I have to use colored canvas, I first apply at least a coat of white acrylic gesso. The gesso changes the way the paint goes on (it thins out more on the smoother gesso'd surface). Oh! I also use fabric paint because it's flexible.
