Disneyland Annual Pass Cheaper than Gym Membership?

didn't know if this would have fit in the disneyland section.

so during my nutrition class we were talking about if you want to lose weight you gotta exercise 90 minutes a day 5 days a week for some actual results. it got me thinking, if a person that lives near disneyland enough to go once a week, and they wanted to lose weight or get in shape of some sort, wouldn't it be more fun to walk around disneyland for a few hours rather than walking on a boring treadmill?

at my local gym it costs $30 a months for membership. times that by 12 and overall it's $360. a deluxe pass is $299! so driving to the parking lot, walking to the tram, then walking from the tram to the park, walking around the park and riding some rides, hit the fruit stand, walk back to tram, then walk back to car and head home.

now i don't know about you, but to me, walking around disneyland for a few hours sounds a lot better than walking on a treadmill.

just a little something that went through my mind, cause we all know we zone out in class sometimes?

Some gym membership is cheaper than others. I go to the gym and pay $20 a month times it by 12 is $240.

When I lived in Fullerton that's what I did. I would walk laps around Disneyland, DCA, and DTDisney.

A nice energetic walk if the entry gates aren't too busy is from TSMM to iasw or RR, or vice versa.

One thing I love about a Disney vacation is that all the walking generally offsets any unhealthy eating. Yeah, I'm eating churros and Monte Cristos, but I'm burning calories all day too.

Of course, if you're just looking for a gym alternative, you can walk anywhere for free, be it a park or the mall. I guess Disneyland would be more of a motivator though.

Just watch out for all those tempting treats....a gym doesn't have that part to deal with.

I'd probably do something like that with good intentions, but would end up doing next to nothing, just like a real gym membership.

I'd be sitting on a bench, eating a corn dog, waiting for my Space Mountain Fastpass to be ready, proudly thinking to myself "I'm working out!".

The only problem with your theory is you don't pass by the churros, popcorn, corndogs, ice creams and candy stands at the gym, like you do at DL. But you do see a lot of fatty's only once!

well yeah like i said, you gotta learn not to buy all of those things, really it would make more sense to go to disneyland with no money at all. discipline.

Hey, sitting burns something like 90 calories! Then you stand up to throw your corndog stick away and sit back down, now you're doing "up-downs." Take that Barry's Bootcamp!

I like your thinking! I wonder how many calories you burn lowering your lap bar on Mr. Toad's Wild Ride?
