    Re: Tell us about Massachusetts

My sister got married just south of Plymouth on a cliff overlooking Cape Cod. Such an amazing and historical state, the witch trials of Salem, not to mention the House of Seven Gables in Salem. Plymouth and Plymouth Rock and the Mayflower. Boston...too much history to even list. If you love American history, you have to go to Boston at some point in your life. I personally enjoyed the duck boat tour of the city

Went to a Yankees/Redsox game at Fenway Park

Love the city of Boston but it's very small when you are from the NYC area

    Go Yankees

Actually my nephew lived in Boston for a while. I have never been there myself. Boston makes me think of Red Sox, baked beans and the Boston Tea Party.

Just remember without a well written Disney Villain, there would be no point in the Heroes and the Princesses. Have you hugged a Disney Villain today?

    Re: Tell us about Massachusetts

Lived my whole life (so far) in Mouse-achusetts.

Right now the temperature is 32 degrees (a little bit of snow this morning, too)

The Eastern part of the state is fairly urban (gets more congested as you reach the coast). The Western part of the state is fairly rural.

The big getaway spot is Cape Cod ("The Cape"). And getting to the Cape on a summer weekend can be an all-day drive in bumper-to-bumper traffic.

Drivers are as insane as drivers in most other states. However, having recently driven across half the country and in California (again), they are not any worse than the rest of the USA.

Pronouncing the names of towns can be a challenge to outsiders:
Worcester is pronounced "wooster" (as in rhyming with Schuster, think of how you pronounce Worcestershire Sauce)
    Leominster is pronounced "leminster"
    Glouster is pronounced "gloster"
    etc.

Liquor stores (commonly known as "packies" or the "package store") were only recently allowed to be open on Sundays.

People often refer to "bubblers" (drinking fountains), though this is fading. As is reference to "tonic" (soda or pop).

    How'z that?

    Re: Tell us about Massachusetts

Boston is GREAT!!!! Love the accents as well. My best friend in elementary school was originally from near Mass.
I went on vacation with them in Cape Cod twice - once for vacay and once to nanny her special needs cosuin. Had a great time. We had oiur own aprtment the secon year, though we were the coolest!
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...
