Is it time to celebrate Christmas yet?

so now that Turkey day is over, do you think now is a great time to start decorating? Or do you think that it is still to early to start decorating for Christmas and the holiday season?

Re: Is it time to celebrate Christmas yet?

    I started decorating on Friday.

I have a tree in the daycare room, waiting to decortate with all my babies on Tuesday.

Setting up the family tree tonight (getting the lights on and it set and ready) to be decorated probably on Wends.... no time until then.

Then we decided to do two more "theme" trees (hubby and I each decided to do a different style tree this year...the kids think it's funny, Mine will be an elegant Victorian style tree....

Yup you read that right 4 Christmas trees, and That's only the beginning...I have a fireplace and Mantle for the first time this year
I can't wait....I have been collecting decorations for years, now I finally have someplace to put them.......

I think my house will be a bit overdone this year...but it will be fun!

Its never too early! All mine are up and done. Inside and out. Started on Friday. (They will all come down December 26th. Never could stand to wait til the 1st)

Next big thing is the start of the Christmas cartoons! Thats family night, pjs, blankies, hot cocoa and only the tree lights and candles on.

I just love this time of year!!!!

guess Im the oddball here..I dont get christmasy till Dec 1st thats when I change up the puter theme and start digging out my boxes of stuff..may not have lights on the house this year..outside lights to me are starting to get boring..everybody has the same thing..now if I could get my hands on the giant outside bulbs that my mom had when I was a kid then I might change my mind..but we will see as the bf is in charge of hanging outside lights..

Used to decorate the first weekend of December but now we do it the night before Thanksgiving or the morning of since we never have to do any of the cooking

Lemme put it this way... by the time I had turkey dinner, I'd finished my first carton of eggnog. Heck no, it's not too early!

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe...

Re: Is it time to celebrate Christmas yet?

Friday following Thansgiving is the traditional get the lights up day at our house. Sadly, it is now a two day project as we've added the second string of icicle lights, the palm trees, our ficus tree, a lighted christmas tree and reindeer....and our house is small potatoes to the ones just up the street! The first half of Friday is just taking all that stuff down from storage!!!

Too early? You can't be serious.

Good Idea! If I did a theme tree, I would LOVE to theme it with Muppets ornaments.

It's a good time. I had my outside decorations up the weekend before Thanksgiving but they didn't get turned on until Friday. We will probably do the inside this weekend.
You can think I'm wrong, but that's no reason to quit thinking.

Re: Is it time to celebrate Christmas yet?

Since Friday I've decorated 14 Christmas trees. I've got my Disneyland trip soon and I have to decorate for several clients before I leave.

I hate to say it but I'm tired of Christmas already.

ORWEN: Oh, it's NEVER too early to start decorating for something a wonderful as Christmas!! Us Cauldron girls already have our big old tree up--lit with little torches--along with the soft glow of all these little goblin eyes for special effects.

ORGOCH: An' here in Morva, ol' Santy Clause don't come down the chimney--he goes UP the dang thing--cause a how scared he is after gittin' a good look at my big fat sister, Orwen!

ORDDU: Ahhh...there's nothing like the thrill of standing under a hanging piece of Deadly Night Shade--waiting for your lover to come by for a kiss!

ORGOCH: In yer case, ya just stand there ferever, sister! 'Cause no man in his right mind would wanna' kiss a smut mouth like yers!!

ORRDU: And then there's always the satisfying aroma filling the whole cottage--as Orwen and I take turns turning the spit over the fireplace--as we watch a certain sister roasting ever so gently over the flames...
