If you can, head out to a dark spot around 1 or 2am. The meteors will appear to originate from about halfway up the sky in the NE. The meteors are caused as the Earth passes through the debris stream left by a comet.
If you can't get out and watch them, you can listen to them. When meteors burn up in our atmosphere, they leave a trail of plasma behind. Radio waves bounce off this and return to Earth and can be heard. Just go here: Space Weather Radio: News and information about sunspots, solar flares and meteor showers
