What's On Top Of Your Christmas Tree?

A little different topic on the tree topic.

What is on the top of your Christmas tree? Some people have stars on the top of their tree and some people have angels. Do you perhaps have something different? I have always had a star. Growing up we always had a star. I have a little tree decorated in all Santa ornaments and it has a Santa on the top. Do you have anything unusual on the top of your Christmas tree?

We have two tree toppers. The system was born out of our first lighted star dying on us in a display that could have burned down the tree. THe phoeniox that rose from the ashes was a new tradition, and a way to keep the Santa magic alive for the kids.

When the tree has been fully lit and decorated, the finishing touch is a Santa Hat. The story goes that Santa seems to forget his hat at our house every year. We put it up on the top of the tree so that Santa will know where to find it. If the kids have been good all year, he will take his hat and leave the an Angel in the hats place.

I am sure that the kids will start to ask questions about it when they start to get a little more common sense under their belts. For now, we enjoy the tradition to the fullest.

I really think the Santa Hat on top of the Christmas tree is a wonderful idea. I am all for keeping the magic in Christmas. Children grow up so quickly these days. I see no need to rush the process and Christmas gives us the opportunity to explore the "little kids" in all of us.

We have a huge bow...with the trailing ribbons touching the floor. I don't know why...I just like bows!

We have a small angel, holding a single light. Every year I say I am going to change it, but every year it is back in its place.

Usually have a big bow made from the ribbon that is on the tree but I really like my furry star

I saw a beautiful snowflake tree topper in Target that I was thinking of getting. I also LOVE the tink tree topper from the Disney catalog.

My MIL says that every tree has to have an angel on it- she gets made when she sees we don't have one

Let's see...growing up we had a star on the family tree. I always had my own little tree as a kid that had an angel which was handmade by a neighbour lady. The angel still goes on a small tree in our house every year and she's over 30 years old. Our big family room tree gets a Boyds Bear angel topper.
