    Never Too Old For Trains!

My younger son Mark just turned 40 last January. In fact his 41st birthday is just a few short weeks away. He got married last June, and recently he and his wife visited a hobby shop. The hobby of model trains caught his eye, and he went home, and started buying trains, and train layout material off of the internet. Here is a sampling of what he has done so far.

My husband and I visited his house, and viewed his train layout yesterday. I thought perhaps some MiceChatters might be interested in viewing the photos.

I had to get in the act of course. I had my husband take this photo of me, and the engineer Mark. I guess I should buy him an engineer hat for his birthday.

One more photo, and then we are done here. I thank everyone for stopping by, and viewing these train pics.

I showed the pictures to my husband, and he said to tell your son to get help quick... because he knows first hand that you start out with one little layout... and before you know it, it will consume your entire world!! It can be a very addicting hobby, but a lot of fun since there is so much that you can do with it. N scale can be tricky to work with since its so small. Especially if you do a lot of "build your own" and not so much of the ready made. But at least it doesn't take up to much room. To start with....

And I love Godzilla in the background!

My son has already told his wife Terri that he is going to expand that train layout all around their back room. That's where my son spends all his time anyway. The thing is that he will have to give up his pinball machine obsession, or find another place for his pinball machines.

He has already saved a whole lot of money by purchasing on ebay. I am surprised at how much he has done in such short a time.

Mark always was good at this sort of thing. He is a mechanic by day, and now an engineer at night.

Cool! Trains and all the miniature scale stuff is so very fun.

And you are never too old for fun, are you?

My boys are obsessed with their Lego train and Christmas village. They would love this!

You can also get a feel of what the train layout looks like at night time.

My grandson is only 1 year old, and he's obsessed with trains.

    Just like his grandfather is.

It's a great hobby. My dad built a train set for us when we were kids. There were 4 children in our family. However, when it came time to turn on the train, that number increased to 5.

The pictures aren't very clear, and you really can't see the trains that well. However, this photo of my younger brother brings back good memories of the time spent playing with the family train.

Re: Never Too Old For Trains!

My son is still adding many new things to his train layout, and when he does he e-mails me pictures. I will add those new pictures to this thread from time to time.

    Thanks for looking..
