i had been a member of save disney for a while... about a year, and i got aquainted with the things that were going on... i read a lot of miceage articles off of save disney and i read the letter where they announced micechat... i clicked the link and thought it wouldnt be too bad if i signed up... its not like its going to take over my life or anything...
Discovering MiceChat was a good thing in my life. I know for a fact that my one visit to Disneyland was 100 percent better because of my MiceChat connection.
Complete agreeance and I havn't even been to DL yet! This is a wonderful community. I've met people, who, in a few short months have become very important in my life and I feel like I've known them forever.
Barbaraann - as usually, your posts are always spot on!
A good friend introduced me to micechat. I'm glad he did because I really
have enjoyed this site. I love reading about different points of view and comments from upbeat people. A positive uplifting site.
WOW! How fascinating to read about the history of Micechat! Thanks Morigoon et al for the background info.
As for me, I have an animator friend who lost his job a couple of years ago when Disney waltzed in and shut down the studio in Florida. Outraged, I began to snoop around on the internet. From there I found "Savedisney.com", Jim Hill, MP and eventually Miceage.
The sad thing is that on my first day of posting, I saw that about 20 people had Monty Python avatars and assumed that every other person in Micechat was as big a fan as I was. It was only later that I discovered that Monty Python was just the Avatar theme of the week.
In any event, I quickly became an addict as I'm a total disney geek and such a huge fan of the parks...(yes even DCA, even though I hate the theme and Paradise Pier makes me want to retch. )
This is such a great place to hangout. Thanks to the ADD people for getting this off the ground!
I was wondering where alot of the posters on another site had disappeared to when one ventured back with 'micechat member' under her(his?) signature. I wondered if that was where everyone else had gone so I came on over. I found Hakuna MaKarla, SummerinFl and several others that I was missing! (Hi guys!) While I wasn't-and still am not- a real big poster, I read everything! My job has alot of down time and I spend most of it on the internet. MiceChat is much livelier than any other site I've been to- I'm loving it here!
Keep the wonderful posts coming. We have MiceChatters from all over the continental United States and other countries as well . It is fun reading about how all the different MiceChatters found their way to this website.
