Six day bike ride to combat HIV/AIDS in southern Africa
This July I will be participating in Mission 360, a 6-day, 360-mile bicycle ride down the coast of California to raise funds to support World Vision's work in Lesotho, in southern Africa. World Vision is a Christian humanitarian relief and development organization. Mission 360 started seven years ago through Horizon Community Church, a church founded 16 years ago in Galt. Since the inception of M360 in 2005 they have raised a total of $193,600. This year, with over 60 riders and support crew members, they hope to raise even more.
The ride will start near Santa Cruz and will work its way down the California coast to Malibu. Each of us participating has already paid for the full cost of the M360 trip out of his/her own pocket, so that 100% of what you donate will go directly to World Vision's work in Lesotho. If you care to learn more and/or donate, click on the link in my signature below.
It will be my first time participating in this fundraiser, and I was invited by friends who have done it in past years. As I learn more about the riders and this project, I'll add it to this thread. First, a short youtube video from the 2010 ride:

I only know a handful of people who have done this ride before, but I have been assured by my friends that 1) they are a nice bunch to ride/camp with, 2) the food is excellent, and 3) it's likely that I'll be one of the strongest riders in the bunch.

I've yet to receive any response to this thread. I know there must be at least one MiceChatter (other than myself) that is interested in this cause.
