What's the BEST thing you've had to eat this holiday season?

My friend makes jalapeno jelly that is out of this world . I've already polished off the entire jar with cream cheese and crackers. Yum!!

My brother made banana flambe in a rootbeer sauce.. it was to die for. That and he made a pork loin with a rootbeer and whisky glaze. It was good too.

My brother-in-law made this out of the world-fantastic meal on Christmas Eve.

    Jerk Chicken
    Red beans and rice
    dirty rice
    Caribbean coleslaw
    Key Lime pie

Then the following evening, he made a full on turkey dinner with all of the trimmings. yum-yum.

Btw... something that we learned while we were down in the park earlier this month. Most restaurants or food stands in Disneyland will give you the recipies for thier food. We were at Bengal Bar B Que and my brother made the remark that he wish he knew the recipe for the sauces they used. The girl at the counter promply reached under the counter, pulled out the recipe, and handed it to us. We got about 15 while we were down there. If you have a favorite dish that the park serves, ask a waiter/ess or counter person if they can give you the recipe for it. If they can't, go to City Hall. They have a binder full of them there.

The best thing I've had this holiday season would be either the from-scratch Snickerdoodles I made or the latkes I cooked a couple of nights ago. Yummy!

Oogie, nice to know about the recipies! There are lots of dishes around the park that I would love to know how to make. I'm definitely going to ask around when I'm there next.

Speaking of things I'd like to eat....

If you want, you don't even have to go to the park. Just e-mail town hall and they will e-mail you the recipies.

We went to this party and someone had made Sopapilla Cheesecake. It was SO good that we looked up a recipe and made our own. Mmmm, best thing by far all season.

Great idea! Although it is much more enjoyable to get the recipies in person rather than via e-mail.

My own chocolate chip cookies. They are exquisite. And chocolatey. And chewy...even days later. I think. They never last for days. None of the other cookies, truffles, fudge, pie or cake I tasted last week compared to my own cookies. Bwahaha!!!

I did all the cooking this year again. My favorite was probably the prime rib and the gravy I made to go with it. I remembered to pour in some burgundy while it was simmering...made all the difference!! Of course...made me want to drink gravy.

And its also much more enjoyable to have the dish in the park than at home... but if you can't make it to the park, you can enjoy it, close your eyes, and pretend that you're there. Imagination is a great thing.

Good point. I'll have to try that.

What is it with some people's chocolate chip cookies? Being a chocolate chip cookie lover and baker myself, I can't stand when people make crispy cookies. Ugh. And I've never tasted a decent homemade batch except my own. Sounds like yours are yummy though!!!!

The Ham I made came out quite good. Honey and cinnamon.
I like my choclate chip cookies with walnuts. The only place I can find them in the park is the Blue Ribbon bakery.
