Walt Disney Blamed For People's Stupid Behavior

A South African news story about people's encounters with animals in the wild.

"I blame it on Walt Disney, where animals are given human qualities. People dont understand that a wild animal is not something that is nice to pat. It can seriously harm you," said James Cameron, a South African professional hunter.

Re: Walt Disney Blamed For People's Stupid Behavior

That's just silly- Walt Disney's nature films in the 40's through the 60's were revolutionary and did not humanize animals in any way.

If a person is dim-witted enough to equate a talking and singing lobster with a live animal you would see in safari, well that's just evolution doing its job weeding out the slow and stupid.

Re: Walt Disney Blamed For People's Stupid Behavior

Didn't Africans anthropomorphize their animals in their stories LOOOOOOONG before Walt was even born?!

People are naturally stupid... even in the 1920s at Yellowstone, people were asking rangers if "Danger" was a warning or the name of the gyser. Can't blame that on Donald Duck's visit to Yellowstone, can you?

Re: Walt Disney Blamed For People's Stupid Behavior

Another example of people refusing to take responsibility for their own actions. Pathetic.

"Hey! Don't call me stupid! This is all Walt Disney's fault. Now, tighten that tourniquet and get my lawyer on the phone!"
"Yesterday, a man walked up to me and said, 'Isn't it a shame that Walt Disney couldn't be here to see this?' and I said, "He did see this, that's why it's here."

I blame it on James Cameron. Because here he is complaining and wasting his time rather than teaching people that some animals are not friendly to pet! But I guess to avoid the blame, he should place the blame on a dead guy who can't defend himself

I blame James Cameron. He made Titanic -- does that give him any right at all to shoot wild animals and blame Walt for his stupidity?! So what if it's a big money-maker. Doesn't give him god-like powers to judge like that!

Re: Walt Disney Blamed For People's Stupid Behavior

    Oh yeah, that makes sense.
Well in that case, I guess we can blame the government on George Orwell:

"All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others."

A proclamation by the pigs who control the government in the novel Animal Farm, by George Orwell. The sentence is a comment on the hypocrisy of governments that proclaim the absolute equality of their citizens but give power and privileges to a small elite.

Down right stupid. Grow up and take some responsibility for your own actions. And get a life.
