Here is the page with the photos of the current suspects. Not the running man. Not the "bag men."

Media shrug at Boston blunders - James Hohmann - POLITICO.com

In an earlier era, many news veterans told POLITICO, a wrong report on a story the whole world was watching would have produced major repercussions — groveling apologies from reporters and editors, journalism seminars on the dangers of letting rumor outpace fact, and maybe even a few firings at the outlets involved.

In a new media era, many journalists — and perhaps many in the audience as well — seem to accept that information on a big story is fluid and fragmentary, and are ready to move on without pausing long for either apology or explanation, other than to blame their sources.

I'm not a journalist, I had the expectation that CNN and the NY Post were legitimate news sites.

Re: Alert: Tax Day Explosions go off at Boston Marathon

    ALERT: BOSTON ON LOCKDOWN:
Boston and its suburbs remained in an unprecedented state of lockdown Friday afternoon as scores of police and federal agents searched for the remaining suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings, after his brother died in an early-morning confrontation with authorities.

The quest to find Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev, a 19-year-old immigrant from Kyrgyzstan, riveted the nation in a way reminiscent of the televised 1994 police chase of O.J. Simpson, only in the smartphone era. In Boston, it triggered the massive disruption of a major American city, with mass transit cancelled, schools and business closed and hundreds of thousands residents ordered to stay indoors. A 20-block area of the suburb of Watertown was completely cordoned off.

Law enforcement officials said they believed Tsarnaev may be strapped with explosives , which only added to the concern. His brother, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, was killed during a wild night in which the brothers allegedly robbed a 7-Eleven store , killed an MIT campus police officer, critically wounded a transit officer and carjacked a Mercedes SUV before getting into a shootout with police.

I liked the uncle's description of the kid better, saying he was a 'loser'.

The aunt seems to think this is all a conspiracy against her nephew.

One of the uncles, however, had a good perspective. Uncle calls Boston suspect 'loser,' says 'turn yourself in'

The perps were Chechens, and the dead one was a fan of jihad, so religion appears to be the motive behind the attacks.

So do you pretty much agree with the uncle?

Ruslan Tsarni, who lives in suburban Washington and has not spoken to the brothers since 2009, said the bombings "put a shame on our family. It put a shame on the entire Chechen ethnicity".
