A pair of explosions rocked the finish line at the Boston Marathon, injuring at least a half-dozen people, a CNN producer at the scene said.

I've changed this post as it could be one or more disgruntled citizens, but more than likely the explosions are acts of terrorism.

Thoughts and prayers to all of those in the Boston area who may have been injured or killed, or who may have family that was involved in the explosions.
Remember this is an ever evolving news story, and has such things will be changing as more and more information begins to come in. But because of the nature of the event, it could be days before we know exactly what happened and know any real details about who may or may not be responsible. Please keep that in mind for any discussion, and remember to follow the rules of the site.
This makes me really upset. As a former Cross Country runner I feel empathy towards the runners and their spectators . I hope the culprit is found and brought to swift justice.

I'm waiting to hear about the friends I have running. I know at least two of my friends are in it this year.
Now they've reported a third explosion, at the JFK Presidential Library.

REPORT: Suspect apprehended...Authorities have a identified a suspect, a Saudi national, who is currently being guarded in a Boston hospital with shrapnel wounds.
Law-enforcement sources said at least the first explosion occurred in the lobby of a nearby hotel.

I am praying that your friends are unharmed.
At the time, it could have been anyone. Now it appears to be a planned act of terrorism.
If this person proves to be an assaliant, this would be the first act of foreign terrorism in several years.
Our investigative law enforcement services are to be commended for quickly finding a person they have reason to believe is a suspect. There almost certainly has to be more than one person that set off the explosions.
I join with you in hope that your friends have not been harmed. Due to the Saudi suspect that has been apprehended, I believe this to be foreign terrorism. Though at this point it could be domestic terrorism. The safety and security of our nation is at stake. There's no telling where terrorist cells might be, but lets hpe that all persons responsible (and any cells not responsible for this act) are found and brought to justice.
The JFK Presidential Library is a national shrine, and pretty close to being a national monument.

Just found out I had three friends there: two runners, plus one of their wives. All are ok. One runner was at mile 23 when they went off, the other finished the race at 3:55, about 15 minutes before the explosions. He and his wife were hundreds of yards away when they went off.
