Man Loses Life Savings on Carnival Game

Man Loses Life Savings on Carnival Game

Henry Gribbohm says he lost his life savings, $2,600, on a carnival game and all he has to show for it is a stuffed banana with dreadlocks.

“You’re expecting the kids to win a few things, let the kids have a good time,” said Gribbohm. “It just didn’t turn out that way.”

Gribbohm says he attended a Manchester carnival run by New Hampshire-based Fiesta Shows and wanted to win an Xbox Kinect at a game called Tubs of Fun where contestants toss balls into a tub.

I'm guessing the stuffed banana sporting dreadlocks is an upgrade from the $2600 in heroin it would have probably been spent on.

Carnivals do one magic trick to everyone and that's making your money magically dissappear from your wallets, purses, and pockets. I went to the Florida State Fair a few years ago and bugeted about $40 on rides. I did the rides I wanted and I took my time but I can see where money can go flying out of your pocket if your not careful. That fourty dollars lasted a few hours and I did ride the rides I wanted. Every once in a while I'll play those carny type games but I certainly won't spend all that money trying to get it.

Also, why didn't the opperator say anything?

So he had $2300 in cash sitting at home? And before that spent $300 trying to win a $100 video game accessory? I feel bad for this genius' kid.

Yes, that's exactly right. And he admits to being a "sucker" but filed a police report against the game operator.

I'm sorry, but he spent his money willingly. It's his own fault and the carnival owes him nothing. Why the police are even bothering with this is beyond me.

I saw the news report on him. He spent $300 and then went back home to get the extra $2300. Sometimes the Darwin award honorees should survive.

I heard about it on the radio. It's amazing that someone would go home for that much money.

Sounds like a "you might be a redneck joke"......

If you file a suit for your life savings in small claims court...you might be a redneck.

And the video. Dude's a mess but the rasta fruit helps the coolness factor.
