She was family. Walt was our uncle. That's why it saddens us so much, I guess.

A sad day for Disney fans, to be certain. In her adult life, she did much to make Walt more and more human for the rest of us. She certainly was her father's daughter! Condolences to her family and the Disney community on our loss.

I applaud her life and the way she stood up for her dad's legacy. I'm sorry for her loss but can't help but to be ( perhaps selfishly ) more concerned that we don't have a Disney involved with the company since the second Roy left. Lassiter certainly contains the right spirit and I feel better with him around but a part of me still wishes there was another Disney who was actively interested in being a part of it all.

I had the pleasure of sitting behind Diane when she rode thru the updated POTC with all the movies elements. She was very out-spoken about her dislike of the update. I never got a chance to introduce myself, but just sitting that close was a very big highlight.

Every time I go to the Walt Disney Family Museum to see a Saturday presentation, I will still see her sitting in her chair at the back of the theater.
