    Shamrock Shakes

Ok, I've had my first, and last (I think) shamrock shake of the year.

    They really stay with you.

Anyone know the secret ingredient? Or, do I want to know?

Then again, I'm still trying to figure out the secret ingredient to the Orange Julius, and those have Vitamin C in 'em, I think.

Don't think the Shamrock Shakes have any such benefits.

I think the secret ingredient in Orange Julius is powdered milk or something like that. As for Shamrock shakes.... anything from McDonalds has to have origins on some other planet.

All a Shamrock Shake is is a vanilla shake with mint flavoring and green food coloring, nothing too crazy!

SHAMROCK SHAKE: I kind of don't want to think about what the ingredients are. If I made a shamrock shake at home, I'd use real mint extract. Knowing McDonalds, something tells me it's a bunch of green food color and artificial chemicals you can't pronounce.

All I know is, I consumed a small shamrock shake for $2.05, at 1:00 pm today.....and it's still with me as we speak. Are they supposed to stay with you that long? What ARE they putting in that ???????

ORANGE JULIUS: I knew someone who worked there, and didn't want to press him for the secret ingredient, but I don't think it's powdered milk. It could be dried egg....but that sounds kind of nasty. I tried putting orange juice, protein powder, and a bit of Hi-C, in a blender once, and it totally didn't taste like the Orange Julius. So, I don't know.

Now I want a smoothie from Orange Julius- maybe tomorrow.

Maybe you just had a bad reaction to it- it might be nothing at all, may not affect anyone else the same way. We need a larger sample-

Actually if you do a Google search for "Orange Julius Ingredients" you get a ton-o-recipies and most of them call for anything from vanilla pudding mix to milk to powdered sugar.

tastes like mint, they uses to be much better before they made them triple thick. it's hard to drink something you can't suck thru the straw. all the things that I use to enjoy (junk food crap) seems to ruinned. thank heavens the "just born" folks haven't changed my wonderful easter peeps. i don't like that they are available all year long cause it does't seem like a treat anymore.

    No way. Not even close.

In 2006, you know the list of chemicals is at least a paragraph.....and that's just the "mint" part. Imitation this, and imitation that...... bio-engineered, computer generated etc etc...

We are talking about McDonalds, here.

No they don't have to release the exact ingredients. That's proprietary information. They have to make nutritional values and calories available, (which I don't want to know).....but never specific ingredients.
