Pics from Hollywood/Beverly Hills

For my Birthday weekend Wolfette and Wolfman took me on a overnight stay in the Hollywood area.

Our plans included a mid day meal at Mel's Dinner (my favorite), VIP tickets for the movie "Shaggy Dog" and Ice Cream following the show next door at the Disney Soda Fountain & Studio Store. The next day we weren't sure, but things fell together nicely. Went to the Hollywood Wax Museum and then on to Rodeo Drive (never had done either one of those touristy things).

We stayed at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel (nice place) right at Hollywood Blvd. & Highland.

Now for some pics......

First had to stop by Johnny Depp's footprints/handprints in front of Grauman's Chinese Theater, Wolfette just loved this part!

Then across the street for our movie.

Love this guy playing prior to the show...all my favorite Disney tunes, they just sound wonderful on this organ!

Cole, the dog that is Shaggy in the movie made an appearance and showed us just how he was trained for the movie. Great Dog!

After the show, had to go next door for Ice Cream...yum. Wolfette and Mr. Lightyear999 posed for a shot with some really big stuffed animals! They were having Ice Cream of course also!

Just before heading to the Wax Museum, had to take a shot of the famouse Hollywood Sign and the advertisment for Shaggy Dog.

Off to Beverly Hills....what a treat, have never walked down Rodeo Drive, mind you, we only went in to a couple of Gallery's (comfortable in them), all the other stores looked so intimidating! Did have lunch at McCormick & Schmick's, which was fantastic. I did buy something, a cookbook, all I could afford in this particular shopping district.

Here is the Wolfette standing over a tunnel in the sidewalk with a mannequin inside, really unique entrance for a store. There was about 3-4 of these that just fascinated us all!

Here is a shot down Rodeo Drive.

Look what we saw coming around the corner!!!!

And finally a last shot of Verace's store front.

We had a wonderful weekend....hope you enjoyed sharing a small part of it with us!

But I'm hoping the Jack Sparrow in the new POTC looks better than that thing at the Wax Museum.

Way cool pics! Thanks for sharing them with all of us! I personally think its great fun to see pics of other peoples adventures!!! Places that I might not ever get to see myself! Looks like everyone had a great time!

Awesome pics! I am so glad you had a wonderful birthday weekend! Wolffette looks so cute in her sweater and with her handbag...that's cute.

Mel's Diner....isn't that the one form American Hot Wax? Awesome music in that movie!

El Capitan sounds like such a fantastic experience. Great looking theatre too.

I must say in person Capt. Jack Sparrow looked better and with Disney Magic, it should be great. Can't wait for pictures from the next great adventure to Nebraska. Yahooooo!!

They pampered my every wish. Heck made out at Sephora (both the Wolfette and I)!

At the Soda Fountain I indulged on Chocolate Chip Ice Cream with Carmel Sauce, messy but OH so yummy! Also bought a few things there too! Love when I pick out my own presents, that way I know I get what I want!

What a wonderful birthday weekend-- sounds like all three of you had a blast! I love the Hollywood Sign/Shaggy Dog billboard picture. Is that the Weinermobile in Beverly Hills? Who woulda thought.
